Okay, look at the picture in the background, and just smile, and be glad this guy is in politics, with his subtle message.... Who said the Green Party isn't useful?

First of all, i don't like greens. they are social democrats, and most of them come from the middle class. second, this is an obvious attempt to look good. they didn't give him that position because they really care about black rights, but because that make them look good. if black people were equal to whites in the u.s, we wouldn't see him. more black people in the government and the congress is a good thing and i support it, but we can see they didn't do it because they care about black people, only because it make them look good. third, if that's the way they want to look better than the republicans, they failed. how could one men in the congress beats Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powel? however, i am glad to see that someone that which took a photo with che picture is going to be in the congress.

His articles explain his reasoning. He says the party is filled with people who want to attract black people, but so do the other parties, at least the Greens prentend to care about reparations and since it's a grassroots party he theorizes that Blacks could make this "their" party, which would force the Democrats out of their exploitive tendencies. His articles and essays would probubly answer quite a few of your concerns.
And Condie and the Colon never got elected, so their is more signifigance in Farley getting elected. Which he probubly won't, but I still admire him.

"at least the Greens prentend to care about reparations"
even you agree that they don't really care. lately, a member of the knesset from meretz has resigned. so meretz replaced him with a declared homosexual. i read that report in an israeli news site, and when i read the comments someone said "meretz are walking with a camera and documenting every good action they do". and i agree with him 100%. they nominate him not because they care about gay rights, but because they want to look good. i am not saying that the nomination is not a progressive step, and i give it full support, i am only saying that we can see the true motivations of meretz in that case. i think that the greens do the same.

ND, the Greens can't do the same as Mr. Farley points out. They are a grassroots party, so the individual states have far more power in shaping the national party. So, the Green Party of Tenessee could have entirely different policies then those of New Jersey.
Of course the Green Party wants to look good, but it gives the black people of the United States another choice other then voting for the Democrats, who only come around preaching to the Black Community so they can get their vote. So, if the Democrats really care about Blacks, then when the Green Party starts actually proving they are worth voting for the Democrats will either have to change policies or lose power, either way is good.
Talk about Revolution and pure Socialism all you want, but Socialist can't agree unless they are unified under a party, and a Grassroots party looks how ever the people who are in it want it to look.

Speeking as a person who is an active activist for the Green Party I'm insulted at New Democracy's ignorance. Most of the Greens I work with come from poorer communities and yes we had black candidates here in New York this election too.
As for the "Greens are Social democrats" ignorance...
..... some are, but we also have anarchists and communists in the greens as well. A good friend of mine who sits on the board of the New York State Greens is a Trotskyite.
Our candidate for Controler in 2002 Howie Hawkins is also a member of the Socialist Party USA
Or Candidate for Governer Stanley Aronowitz has writen books in support of Marxism for christ's sake.
Your gross generalizations mark you for a fool.
Also don't give me that bullshit about running a black candidate because it "looks good." The democatic party did that here in New York State whith the Governer candidate Carl McCall who was a weeker candidate than an Italian guy who could have run...
.... Who did the New York State Green Party run? Stanley Aronowitz.. a Jewish guy and who was his running mate? Jenifer Dannels.. a Black woman.
Hmmmm if it was all about race than why was the black woman running for Lt Governer and not Governer?

Yeah, Green Party of NY seems really hopefull. In New Jersey it's far less interesting, despite the fact most people love their platform most Democrats were scared of the Republicans winning so they didn't vote Green, that was real dumb. I mean come on the two choices were both horrible for the Dems and Reps....
