Is anybody here as hopelessly addicted to reggae as I am?.. I listen to Bob Marley & The Wailers on my way to school, Toots and the Maytals in my lunch hour, Burning Spear in Math class, Dennis Brown on my way back home and a whole bunch of different shit in between... Also, any leftist "users" here? (GANJA):D.. I've only ever met one and he's my friend..

I love reggae, dub, ska, (early) dancehall, 2-tone, lover's rock, the whole package of Jamaican sounds.
Especially dub.

I have smoked weed but I'm not really a user, aint got the money for it, I only leech my weed off other people. :)

Reggae is horribly catchy. It's quite entertaining and always makes me want to dance. haha!

Also, i'm not a user. The smell of weed has always turned me off of it. Besides, my Conservative friends would like murder me if I ever attempted to try it. D:

Damian Marley. Fucking amazing. The Marley family is all great, Steel Pulse is awesome as well. Have not stopped listening to reggae for the last few days.

For me, I am trying to cut back on my 'cloud' production, but aye, I do pretty often.

I love reggae, especially Toots & the Maytals, but I like ska a lot better, like Desmond Dekker, Prince Buster, and the Skatalites. Jamaicans are pretty awesome at making catchy music.

I used to be a bit annoyed with reggae cause every run-of-the-mill punk band would try to integrate a reggae/ska break in their songs even if they clearly weren't meant to be trying that. I've also never been a big fan of Bob Marley's - what I heard seemed too spiritual and laid-back for my tastes. I admit I'm not an expert, though - I barely know his greatest hits.

But I discovered that I really like early 70s reggae when I watched 'The Harder They Come'. The songs on there seem to be neither ska/rocksteady nor full-fledged Marley style reggae, but somewhere in between: too angry and desperate to be good-time ska & too tough to be Jah worshipping stoner music.

Edit: Here's the title song. Again, I'm not an expert so it's probably like suggesting to a bunch of punk rockers they check out the Sex Pistols.
