I'm basically here to learn more about radical leftism. I've had some exposure to these ideas from my parents, but I want a more rigorous introduction. I'm in highschool, so the inanity of daily life in the (mis)educational system always get in the way of real learning. I used to be a "liberal" (the american way of saying social democrat) but I'm much farther left than I used to be. I've flirted with individualist anarchism and democratic socialism in the past, but it never really sticks.

It would be great if someone could give me a basic reading list to understand the principles behind leftist thought.

Anyway, as far as reading material goes I would recommend The Communist Manifesto for starters. Also, anything by Lenin or Trotsky. marxists.org is a good site to find all this stuff. :)
