Would have to be:
"Still we lampin' still clockin' dirt for our sweat
A ballots dead so a bullet's what I get
A thousand years they had tha tools
We should be takin' 'em
Fuck tha G-ride I want the machines that are makin' em"

Only song of theirs that I like is "Pistol Grip Pump", which is a Mack 10 cover.

"A fire in the master's house is set!" - New Millenium Homes
"A riot be the rhyme of the unheard" - Calm Like a Bomb
"Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission
Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite
All of which are american dreams" - Know your Enemy

None, they could all have been written by a 12 year old with an encycolpedia for Christmas.

Perhaps a 12 year old who chills with Zapatista's and has sufficient knowledge of revolutionary organizations, movements, figures and an encyclopedia.
Anyone who dislikes Rage because of their more popular songs you've heard, I'd recommend giving Evil Empire an honest listen.
Of course everyone won't like them, but I think alot of people dismiss them because of their relative popularity.

Oh god. Most people that like 'em here do so because they are some sort of leftists (very vague onces at that).
But it's still some of the most bland, unoriginal attempts at hard rock I've ever heard.

Then please enlighten us by presenting to us intelligent lyrics, since we're such juveniles.

Unoriginal? Maybe it's due to the prevalence of weak copycats like Limp Bizkit, Crazy Town, etc.
I think their lyrics are good - not overly preachy or technical (if you want someone to rap Lenin's State and Revolution or something "more intelligent" then good luck) but get the message across.
The music is simple yet aggressive.
And yes, it does help their popularity that they're leftists. How are they "vague" though? Is it because they don't openly state their position?

since we're such juveniles.Where did I say that? My criticsm of Rage is purely of the band and its shit lyrics. People can listen to what they like. If Rage give you a kick, good for you. I listen to all sorts of shit, with all sorts of crap lyrics; the difference between us is I don't think that those band's lyrics are at all profound.
Actually never mind; I take it back, if you want to take a criticsm of a band you like as a personal attack on your person then you diserve to be called juvenile.

I usually can't understand ZDLR's terrible rappin'.

The cover album that they did was pretty good. They did an OK Eric B and Rakim cover, a really great version of Maggie's Farm (seriously that song was written for them), and a few other good ones on that CD.
I was a huge fan when I was 13, but I wasn't remotely leftist then, I was religious and conservative.

This is wrong on so many levels. That cover is fucking dire, I hate it. It misses every bit of emotion in the origional.
It also shows that Rage missed the very point of the song, which, ironically enough, was Dylan's statement that he was dropping both folk and the political protest songs he had been making earlier in his career. It is a play on Silas Magee´s Farm where Dylan played in 1963.

Well the way I understood what you said was that their lyrics are very simplistic and therefore people who like them are equally so.
I understand what you're saying now though.

But you still need to ruin a thread with your pointless rant?
Firstly it isn't a rant, and it isn't in any way vitriolic. Secondly, if you don't want to ruin the thread why drag it further off topic by making a post on (and in doing so re-igniting it) an issue which has already been resolved?
Actually, don't bother answering that. I don't care.
