If we (me included) can hold off on our preening, I have a question: hwat songs do you Commies and Unioners sing at meeting.
I'm thinking (like a Capitlaist, I guess) that we should put together a Commie, or at least a leftist song book--all the songs fit to sing at a commie "event."
Maybe we could do an album of Leftist songs--Rasco can sing if if she so chooses. It might be a nice gift.
Or ever...dare I say it? A Commie karaoke tape? I should get together with the Rheingraf von Malte and see if we could revitalize the "Che" franchise. :thumbup1:

TomK in response to you asking what I personally sing in general, alot of things. I like Hip Hop, that sort of quick and rhythmical style, but I usually do it in parodies and for comedic effect because I'm not genuinely talented.
I sing alot of old socialist songs like bread and roses, classics which remain true today. Especially The Internationale and A Las Barricadas, as well as Irish folk songs, which are my speciality, Rebel Music is my favourite which is like a sub genre of Irish folk. Songs like "Some Say The Devil Is Dead."
I'm better with the Irish folk, its almost listenable. Not that I record or anything. Then theres chants on political protests and football matches, which are my favourite, humerous banter/chants.
At meetings it tends to be The Internationale. With friends we sing whatever, sometimes anti-racist songs.

Thank you, I was just--as in the creases are still in my fingertips from the guitar strings--singing Cold Play's Viva la Vida.
I want to look into old protest and Commie and union songs. I find them pretty all interesting. If you don't mind I'll look up some of the songs you mentioned.

Believe it or not, I was mostly just trying to get RTG to post his links. .. which I think are a lot better than mine. I sing all the time, mostly for the benefit of my cat. . . I'm merely shameless, which should not be mistaken for career aspirations. :)
But, I'm pretty curious about how everybody else sounds, especially (now) HLVS. . .
And as a side note, I find it most appropriate that the local catholic wants to put together a hymnal. :)

Aside from the politics of Communism--I'm particularly interested in the "culture" of Communism. I'm interested in American Communist culture in particular, how they translated Democratic Capitalistic America of the 30's-60's into a Communist ideal before the New Left took over. And I'm interested in how they translated that culture into art. (Pre Bob Dylan.)

Disclaimer, though, on the playlist--it's what I listen to (read, sing along with) around the house, and--when possible--is edited often. Doesn't accurately reflect my musical taste generally, represents what was worth listening to again. Also, project playlist doesn't have enough indie or classical for me.

I am still restricted and therefore I'm posting this response to Gilhyle here:
The will exists, a phenomenon of formulating intentions prior to acting. It does not universally apply. Often we act without a prior, distinguishable process of intent formulation.
If this will existed (and it does not), then it would certainly "apply universally", or else you would have to assert that some people don't have the "phenomena of formulating intentions prior to acting", and in doing so, you would be speaking of a person who was fundamentally different that yourself...in which case you could not know if they had a "will" or not.
Also, there are countless causes which give rise to the effects, to our behavior, that elude our awareness. So the fact is we can never distinguish between "choice" and "caused action" except in the sense that what we think is evidence of a "choice" is the act of thinking to oneself and deciding to act. One thinks "I want to go to the kitchen", and does, but it isn't just that thought that made it possible to do so. There are a host of other causes, without which, you could not think "I want to go to the kitchen".
There are some serious issues with the way philosophers use the terms "mind", "consciousness", and "will", by the way.

I understand what you are saying, I'm just not sanguine with it--if anything being a Proletarian should be a TOTALLY egalitarian experience. But I understand that may be your particularly liberal perspective. I think radical Revolutionaries might be more open to different ideas.

OK, a bit odd because tomatos came from the New World--and were Columbus, so the Romans never saw them. They never saw pizza.
Romans mostly ate rotten fish (rotted on purpose) and then made into a paste. Nasty stuff.

The girl with brown hair looks like she would rather be somewhere else and has a massive Forehead which you could probably use as a large painting canvas. The guy next to her (with the curly hair) looks like he has discovered nine brand new forms of heroine and injected himself in the neck with them.
The middle one just scares me. Looks abit like something out out alien. The girl next to her looks like those fifty year olds who bathe in make up every day and she seems to be fingering the Alien girl.
And what the fuck is wrong with the guy on the far right's chin it looks as if its had part of it sawn off.

But I certainly hope not. Larry Fitzgerald is a beast, if anyone can break through that defense it's him.
And dude, never mind the fact that the Steelers use what's also a corporate logo on their helmet. The English Premier League they're discussing is a corporation.
Anyway, I don't know what the hell Arsenal is. All I see is team Fly Emirates  Though the only teams Americans seem to root for are AIG and Samsung. Fucking pisses me off, trendy little *****es. I try to get into it, it's usually the only sports on at the wee hours my time (though the Aussie Open has been on lately), but what holds me back is the fact that it's really just a competition between 3 or 4 teams. Every year, it's one of those teams. And frankly, it's seems like a game for a few billionaires in the midst of underfunded competition.

I know you're just joking around there,
Not really. I have a music collection that consists of about 10,000 songs and a few hundred artists ranging anywhere from early folk songs to obscure European industrial...but man, I love Aqua. Great music to dance around the house with the 2 year old too.
but a truly committed revolutionary wouldn't have any such pre-conditions. Or even joke about it.A truly committed revolutionary wouldn't jump head first in to any group that waves a red flag. Hell, I saw a red flag flying over McDonalds...doesn't mean I'm going to kick it with them. :tt2:
Maybe you need to come on over to the dark side, Plague. You know you're a little uneasy with all this revolution b.s.I am indeed uneasy with the fact that, time and time again, the cost of real change on this planet throughout history has been violent revolution...but it's the only way things have happened, it's how it's happening now, and it's likely how it will continue to be. I'm generally a peaceful guy, but I'm also not one to lay down and die once the other side has determined how it's going to go down...as I've said, the ruling class will be the ones to decide whether revolution is violent or not. I'm kind of hopeful perhaps we could pull of a more "civil disobedience" type of deal...but then, I have no crystal ball.
As far as "revoltion b.s.", I hope you're talking about The Revolution (TM) that some people seem to fetishize, and not expecting me to dismiss a scientifically observed phenomenon throughout human history. Even non-marxists have written a great deal on the subject.
Yours cordially,

An interesting article on Dali's politics:
http://www.art-for-a-change.com/content/essays/dali.htm
In 1933, instead of condemning Hitler, Dalí painted and exhibited The Enigma of William Tell (http://www.fotos.org/galeria/data/520/3Salvador-Dali-The-Enigma-Of-William-Tell.jpg), a semi-nude portrait of Lenin with a huge anamorphic buttock. The Surrealists saw the painting as a provocation - especially since the Nazis were busy murdering people for being "communists". Dalí defended himself by saying, "No dialectical progress will be possible if one adopts the reprehensible attitude of rejecting and fighting against Hitlerism without trying to understand it as fully as possible." Surrealist misgivings concerning Dalí's political loyalties led him to sign a declaration that he "was not an enemy of the proletariat", but the situation only worsened with the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War.
While the Surrealists and artists worldwide reacted to the outrages of fascism against the Spanish Republic, Dalí painted his Soft Construction with Boiled Beans, a work that many art critics have mistakenly construed as being "antiwar".
Commenting on the canvas, the Philadelphia Museum's promotional material states, "Though Dalí intended this painting as a comment on the horrors of the Spanish Civil War, he did not openly side with the Republic or with the fascist regime. In fact, the painting is one of only a few works by Dalí to deal with contemporary social or political issues. Unlike other Spanish modernists, including Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, who used their art to make political statements in support of the Spanish Republic, Dalí preferred
to remain apolitical."

I went to see some of his sculptures at the southbank gallery in London. They were wondeful, but it had a lot about his political ambiguity.

Example number 2,657 for why Capitalism is inherently fucked:
I just worked myself out of a job. A Hispanic fellow hired me to help him with renovating an old house. He hired me specifically to install the interior trim in the basement. Now, he had expected the work to take me longer than it did to finish- this is because he is used to the pace that his crew works at. I am nothing like him or his crew. In less than fourteen hours I completed the work, which blew him away.
Now listen.
There are two arrangements which Miquel might have with the owner. Either he is doing the job by "T and M", which means that he is paid a set rate per hour, per man, and is being compensated for the material costs- "Time and Material"- or, he is contracting the job and getting paid per unit...per square foot.
In the former case, Miquel can purposely work his crew at a slow pace so that he continues getting paid by the naive owner- he would be dragging out the job. In the later case, Miquel should find me the most valuable worker because of the fact that I produce at a faster pace than any of his employees. If he is in fact contracting the job, but doesn't want me to continue to work for him, he is contradicting the capitalist principles. By using me, who produces as much as three of his workers, he is cutting costs and making a higher profit. And yet after I finished the trim, he said he had nothing else for me to do. His crew continues to install siding, doors, and other new framing on the house. This is the stuff that I should be doing...if Miquel had any sense.
Therefore, I conclude that he is either stupid....or....he is getting paid T and M....in which case I wouldn't be useful to him because I work so fast.
In either case there is something terribly conflicting with this scenario. In this scenario, either myself or the home owner gets screwed.
This is a problem that only exists in a free market and private business. In a socialist system, things would be quite different. Ranks would be established- somebody like me would not be a subordinate to somebody like Miquel...the inferior carpenter. Nor would somebody with my skill be subjected to working himself out of a job because of the peculiar conditions of the contract. Finding and keeping a job would not be an issue. The state would accommodate me accordingly. There wouldn't be home owners who would get ripped off by contractors who worked on their private property at a purposeful slow pace.
This incident was perfectly inefficient. It is a wonderful example of how screwed up capitalism is.

In the restrictions thread I undermined the mentality and attitude of the communist with a little help from The Moustache. You will all deny it but you know it to be true. That is okay. I understand.
I want to comment briefly on the two perspectives I have of those who claim to be communists. There are really two kinds of communists- those who have no right to deserve to complain, and those who do...but do so not merely because they are being exploited, as the other type does. Therein lies a unique paradox in the communist; the acceptable communist is aristocratic and elitist by nature. He/she is not equal to the others.
Let me use Rosa as an example. Here is Rosa's deal in a nut shell. She cannot stand to be subordinate to the intellectual inferiors which occupy the capitalist class. Rosa is/was a postal worker. Imagine that. This chick has no business sorting through letters and shit in some humid office complex while easy listening plays on the small radio that sits on the file cabinet next to the coffee machine. Are you kidding me?
This is the difference with Rosa. She is not one of the millions of faceless, worthless lower class cretins who take up the communist banner because a few other people who call themselves communists use big words and sound intelligent to them....so....clearly they must be right....so....clearly the worthless lower class cretin deserves more.
No. Rosa is the mind behind the method. She is not a lackey who bought the Che T-shirt at the head shop.
Rosa is in every sense of the word an aristocrat. She simply would not function correctly in a system which did not afford her an opportunity to hold a high rank in the intelligentsia. She is not a communist for her, as the other communists are for themselves. She is a communist for others. If you prefer, she is the type who would occupy office in a vanguard party...a central ruling elite to which the proletarian class would be subject. The force and breadth of her strength as a revolutionary far exceeds that of the average working classes. She is a leader, not the led.
Now do you see the fundamental difference between the pathos of the communist leader and the communist follower? They are not the same- the former is far more valuable to the movement then any other participant.
This type of communist is the only one that I admire. I have no sympathy for the mindless automaton who complains about capitalism without a thorough understanding of it...or for the proletariat who is no better than the capitalist who exploits him. I support the communist of this sort only because he produces where the capitalist class does nothing but consume. This kind of communist is the lesser of two evils. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is.
If you are a communist you better stand out rather than remain invisible in a swarm of ants. Drones are a dime-a-dozen. You don't want to be a drone. Now.....distinguish yourself at once!

Never mix drinking with bars.
I popped two after a couple beers at my place...
and woke up the next day in a ditch way on the other side of the city (in fact, I was no longer in the city, but the outskirts of the DFW 'metroplex'). No wallet, no phone, no car (praise allah it was still at my house, along with my wallet and all other valuables). I have no idea what the hell happened.
One of the most surreal experiences of my life I think, waking up in that drainage culvert with no fucking clue were I was. Then finding out I'm in fucking Cleburne (an hour away, at least) left my brain aching, trying to comprehend the situation I found myself in.
Luckily the first house I knocked on was owned by a nice elderly couple who allowed me to use their phone to call a friend, while they also poured me an oh-so-nice cup of the black stuff. I am very grateful for their generosity, and need to grab a gift for them.
One bit of respite was attained by the discovery of someone else's piece and a baggy of good green goo in my pocket. This is my only clue, along with the fact that my wallet has $12 less than what I had before (which tells me the money and bud may be unrelated), as to what the hell I was doing out there.
I'm hoping for a flashback, but I didn't take any 'cid so most likely any recollections of that night are lost forever.
Oh well.

The question is, what would be more satisfying,
A big 'scandal' exposing Hannity or Billo to be a homosexual?
I have to say Hannity. Nobody would ever listen to that prick's hypocrisy again.
Oh it would be soooooooooooooooo sweet.
In Plano (the richest city in the US, or was just a year or two ago) there is this MASSIVE megachurch named Prestonwood that is just a slap in the fucking face, not least because they need cops to direct traffic out of there, whilst they have another exit which has it's own stoplight that will stop everyone on what is a moderately busy street in order to let one car which is waiting leave. Not to mention you have to pay dues to join. Not tithes, dues. (never mind the theology of the new testemant, the whole ye mock the poor with your fine sanctuaries regarding extravagant places of worship, in which Jesus could easily have been talking about this sucker. It's like a McMansion version of the Notre Dame, with a $20m mortgage).
Anyway, a few weeks ago the youth pastor was arrested for getting a little too involved with the kids. I don't know why, I know it's sick and disgusting, but I couldn't help but laugh for hours upon hearing the news.
God I cannot wait for that place to declare bankruptcy. It would be even sweeter than if Hannity and Billo are lovers.

so here it is merry christmas
everybodies having fun
look to the future now
it's only just begun
what will your daddy do when he sees your moma kissing santa, ahaa
are you hanging up your stocking on your wall
are you hoping that the snow will start to fall
do you ride on down the hillside
in a boggy you have made
when you land upon your head
then you will say
so here it is merry christmas
everybodies having fun
look to the future now
it's only just begun

Good points man. See, that's what I've always hated about religion, the hypocrisy, the ability to change things in their own history, getting caught doing something they're not supposed to be according to their religion (which is oppressive of human nature as in the case of Haggard) etc. This is why I don't think I've ever been religious etc.
However, I think there are always going to be people who loop for "cosmic purpose" etc. so religious itself if it exists in a certain way isn't a threat to society. It's only when their social order is going to be "forced" on society that's the problem.

I agree, there are a lot of true believes I know who don't have any holier-than-thou attitude towards myself (an atheist), and I respect their beliefs completely.
However, in this case, it's a pissing contest for wealthy people who want to be seen in the biggest church around when they praise Jesus. It also has a private school attached (which is miniscule next to the church itself) with rates for high school at about $15k a year. And just to bring up my point, (oops, my pic isn't working. Check out Rob the Great's post)
When I originally moved to the area a friend told me it was an indoor football stadium for Texas Christian University and I totally believed him, then was shocked when he laughed and said he 'got me' (the huge amounts of public money spent on giant football stadiums here is another issue that pisses me off more, but that's a whole other topic).
I don't know if it really force's itself on society too much though. Other than tax-free status, which is bullshit, and the fact that it's obviously ugly as sin.

Subway is by far the suckiest subs going. (No offense to you for working there.) Here we have Firehouse--a chain but definitely better, but mostly the BEST subs are from independant sub shops.
There's one one every corner. Makes you kind of wonder--would I rather live in a country with bad news and great subs or great news and lousy subs? :D

I have no real problem with big churches per se, as long as they are of decent architecture and I like the latin gothic look of several churches I used to live by in the southwest, but here in the south they are all McCathedrals.

Yep. Time to do away with that tax-free status.
At the very least, any preacher making more than 100k should be paying the IRS. I make substantially less than that I perform a service that is much more productive than professional bullshitting. Now, if you're going to give yourself to God and give up all worldly possessions, more power to you.

Well the preachers pay taxes on what THEY make. If they have a salary of 50K then they pay taxes on that salary. On the other hand the CHURCH doesn't pay taxes on what it takes from contibutions from parishioners. Nor does any charity--United Way, etc. It would have to pay tax on any "for profit" company that it owned (like a cattle ranch.)
It would be pretty difficult to change the tax rules on any of that.
Interesting thing about the church it is has flying butresses almost like it's a mockery of a Gothic church.

Good to see that I'm not the only one who becomes "physically ill" if reading their stuff long enough. Some of their posts are really giving me a stab in the stomach. The most cynical shit I ever read was a post there, were one of them claimed that the Nazis actually saved the Jews by taking them to Auschwitz and other KZs because whole Europe was bombed down and had to suffer from war crimes (I really wonder who did these terrible things!) and only the Jews were "save" in the KZs and could avoid being slaughtered this way... I never felt the need for smashing my screen that urgent!
And their typical "blacks are animals" (some bastard suggests a safari on blacks in black neighbourhoods and Africa) and their Nazi-glorifying ("Aww, if I look at these pictures of living in the 3rd Reich my heart hurts!"... mine hurts too, but for very different reasons!) and their "Communists are evil Jew-loving gay and balcks friends" shit is just insufferable and you're right, the womens forum is a source of surprise for me. I never thought that so many women would like to be simple birth-machines and house-slaves...
About the Nazbols: since the Russian sites are down for ages, (except this rather lame english info-site (http://nazbol.cc/), go for the "Manual of youth aggression" one it has a "nice" video) here's the Czech NB site (http://www.narodni-bolsevik.org/). I don't think you will understand much but look through the ART-section, they have some rather interesting materials there, which show their strange attempt to combine communism with fascism.

If that inclination is the only thing you ever receive positive feedback for in your whole life, it can really fuck with your head a lot. Cutting off a person's desire for outside information is one of the most effective ways to keep them ignorant.
The worst part for me, reading the women's forum, that I can't help but think; I like these women. I relate to these women. Often I would want to be their friend. . . but they've all been stuck in this tragic, disgusting, sickening little box.. . :(

Anywhere I can go to read those rules--I must have missed them.

It's also been used to denigrate people as being "un-manly" and has historically been used an affront to homosexuals (giving way to such phrases as "pansy," "nancy-boy," and other such drivel). "****" seems to be a means of calling someone bitter and cruel, usually in reference to women who act this way, just as men who are mean and insensitive are called "dicks". I don't use it myself, but from its usage, it seems to have become a unisex slur for "jerk." Calling people "****s" and "dicks" is vulgar and childish, but it doesn't have the same misogynistic/homophobic connotations that "pussy" has attached to it. People called homosexuals that because they had the predjudicial concept that homosexuals are somehow less tough then hederosexuals, that does'nt mean that words meaning unmanly or untough are against homosexuals. Thats like saying someone is greasy is automatically meaning he's racist against italians or latinos or wahtever because they were stereotyped as that in the past too. That makes no sense.
"****" seems to be a means of calling someone bitter and cruel, usually in reference to women who act this way, just as men who are mean and insensitive are called "dicks". I don't use it myself, but from its usage, it seems to have become a unisex slur for "jerk."
Men are called ****s too ... very few women (as far as I know of of) ar called dicks.
but it doesn't have the same misogynistic/homophobic connotations that "pussy" has attached to it.
There is NO homophobic connotation to the word pussy, and niether is there misogynistic, it is widely used without any connotatio attached to it, now if you want to go into the deep history of the word and its origional meaning why it became what it became, then your welcome too, but thats a seperate discussion and has nothing to do with whether the word no is discriminatory. I know many women that say "that guy is a pussy", without any connotations attached to it.
RGacky3 was warned, he pushed his luck, and he got an infraction. I say he should stop complaining.
I did'nt push myluck, I asked about the term "pussy whipped" which means a compleatly different thing, in that sense its refering to pussy as vagina, and the whipped as a man who is "whipped" by the girl he is with.
I'm not complaining, its a serious accusation, if someone is accusing my of discrimination then its something to discuss.
It's also been used to denigrate people as being "un-manly"
Yeah possibly in the sense of a pussy-cat.
and has historically been used an affront to homosexuals
No it hasn't.

To be fair, those are all crap insults anyway.
"****" seems to be a means of calling someone bitter and cruel
Or just insulting someone you don't like in general.
usually in reference to women who act this way, just as men who are mean and insensitive are called "dicks"
Really? I've witnessed so many people call men ****s. It's more common for males who hold discriminatory views against women to call them *****es -- however, not all men who do call certain women *****es hold discriminatory views, it's just far more common that they do than ones that use ****, **** is a widely used word.
I don't use it myself, but from its usage, it seems to have become a unisex slur for "jerk." Calling people "****s" and "dicks" is vulgar and childish, but it doesn't have the same misogynistic/homophobic connotations that "pussy" has attached to it.

By the way, I don't know whether "pussy" should be considered discriminatory. I do know that "gay" as a pejorative should be though.
RGacky3, I would suggest that you could start a thread in OI to discuss "discriminatory language", and it shouldn't be closed (so long as it isn't merely an attack on the management for your warning). Whether the CC, or the mod team, takes any notice of it, is a different matter.

Those who are dangerous among the revolutionary spirits.— One can divide those who are intent on overthrowing society into the ones who want to achieve something for themselves, and the ones who want to achieve something for their children and grandchildren. The latter are the more dangerous; for they believe they are disinterested and possess the good conscience that goes with that belief. The others can be bought off: the ruling society is still rich and prudent enough for that. Danger begins when goals become impersonal; revolutionaries whose interest is impersonal may regard all defenders of the existing order as having a personal interest, and may therefore feel superior to them.- Nietzsche
Another bulls-eye. Can this guy shoot or what?
There is no doubt in my mind that Nietzsche has worked out the future of politics from top to bottom. He gives a very fair estimation of the kind of motives and attitudes of everyone ever involved in a political movement. It is clear that Nietzsche understands socialism as being a superior system to all other alternatives, and to understand how he arrives at this conclusion one has to follow him through his labyrinth.
There are "fair weather" Nietzscheans, those angry simpletons who don't want to work for the wrong reasons, and who therefore feel entitled to have a political opinion at all, who take pieces of this labyrinth to use to their advantage...without traversing the entire maze itself. These simpletons take "politics is for the rabble" and use it as an excuse to remain worthless, lazy zeros. "I'm an artist", they say, and I am above the matter of politics...."I'm an ubermensch, see, so rather than starting my own business or working for peanuts at the grocery store, I'll smoke pot, play my guitar, and wander around....because I've read Nietzsche and I'm the noble artistic type." But these idiots couldn't do anything else- they pretend that they have made a competent decision and "deserve" their alternative....but they haven't and they don't. They couldn't handle politics even if they wanted to....so they pretend to have not wanted to and made the decision to avoid it. These romantic Randian noble artistic types, my ass.
This accounts for probably ninety percent of the Nietzscheans today. But enough about them.
You see him describe the idealistic revolutionary as the most dangerous, while the revolutionary for the immediate, personal gratification is no great threat to the system. I say "idealist" because they are motivated toward creating a future that is not yet realized- they are in a sense political artists, while the latter revolutionaries are individuals under the guise of collective interests, impersonal, communal interests, who if pressed would fold and collapse.
There is a pathological difference between the idealist and the realist revolutionary. The idealists fit the mold of the overman- they are not the anarchists, christians and socialists Nietzsche describes as decadent....looking for a way to blame somebody else for their failings and their discontent. Why not? Because they have no investment in the immediate time....they are living and fighting to establish and secure a future in which others might not fail the same. This is extraordinary, a spiritual superiority at its best. They hold the hammers. They are like martyrs who sacrifice themselves so that something greater than them, and their opponents, might be willed. They are clearing the political arena of every corruption from top to bottom, destroying the entire stage rather than shifting a few props here and there to make things better for themselves.
Do you see the difference? Nietzsche certainly does weed-out the decadent revolutionary type (I can list the aphorisms in which he does this), but he does not abandon the superiority of this system. Observe:
Property and justice.— When socialists prove that the distribution of wealth in present-day society is the consequence of countless injustices and atrocities, rejecting in summa the obligation towards anything so unjustly established, they are seeing only one aspect of the matter. The entire past of the old culture was erected on force, slavery, deception, error; but we, the heirs and inheritors of all these past things, cannot decree our own abolition, and may not wish away one particular part. The disposition to injustice lies in the souls of the non-possessors too, they are no better than the possessors and have no special moral privilege, for at some point their forefathers were possessors too. We do not need forcible redistribution of property, but rather a gradual transformation of mind; the sense of justice must become greater in everyone, and the instinct for violence weaker.- Nietzsche

Capitalism is not the realization of aristocratic virtues, and it is not because the capitalist, who should be the equivalent of the noble, artistic type, has no spiritual depth or integrity. He is as shallow as those who he exploits so he does not have to work, and in his free-time, which he has acquired through not having to work, he festers and flounders and flops on the surface of this shallow water. Show me the "best" capitalist in the world and I'll give you a peek into his real life, what he does, what he doesn't do. There is no fucking way this guy is the equivalent of a Caesar or a Napoleon.
There is no proper hierarchy of ranks in this pseudo-aristocracy because the highest rank would not be distinguishable from the lowest rant if he was removed from the context in which he exists because of being able to exploit the lowest rank. This emperor "has no clothes".
What is the richest man in the world doing right now, as we speak? Eating a souffle on the patio of his vacation home on an island while his wife argues with her hairdresser on the phone. This is the greatest man alive today. Later, he will take his arthritis pills and go play a round of golf. At noon, he's back at the house drinking scotch and staring contemplatively at his Rembrandt hanging over the marble mantle....as if this guy has culture and refined tastes. In the evening, he hosts a dinner party for all the CEOs, who bring their wives. They mingle and talk about the stock market. One of them asks to be excused because he has irritable bowl syndrome....and needs to get to the bathroom quick. This goes on for a few more hours and then the night is over. Tomorrow, repeat.
I'm sorry people. This doesn't cut it. There is no fucking way this shit justifies capitalism- is this what being "a success" means in capitalism?
How many thousands of people are miserable so these idiots can do a whole lot of nothing every day of their lives? I don't see "noble people". I see a living, breathing cancerous parasite who if stripped of their power and possessions, wouldn't last five minutes in a real struggle. My god, the thing can't even play a round of golf without becoming exhausted!
I'm saying that the world better produce something far better than these idiots if it is to redeem the capitalist system.
The plowshare of evil must come again. It has come. Watch your back Capitalists....we are creeping in the night and we will make a true work of "art" out of you yet.

On the album "Man From Utopia", Frank arranged a song in the theme of "lounge jazz", which he absolutely hated, in which Steve Vai would match on his guitar, note for note, the syllables of the lyrics. Very difficult to do. The original cannot be found on youtube, but I found these:
This one was done by someone in the same style, but with horns:

This one is a cover of the original done by Mike Keneally:

Believe it or not, the story is true. It happened with some guys from Zappa's road crew while on tour.
Once upon a time
It was in Albuquerque, New Mexico
There were these girls that worked at the college
The were really cool...
(They thought so anyway)
The would be delighted to tell you how suave they where
At the drop of a hat
There was three of 'em:
One of them thought she was a Beauty Queen...
The other one was a Walking Blow-Job
And then there was this skinny girl...
Oh well...
Some of the guys in the band got together
With the girls from the college
They were having a good time...
(We were in Alburquerque for a couple of days)
But these girls thought they were Hot Shit
'N wouldn't pooch the guys in the band
On the first day, so...
A couple of the guys in the band
Who were desparate for THAT KIND OF ACTION
Kept workin' on 'em for two days
(Which is a waste of fuckin' time anyway...)
So, anyway...
But if that's your idea of a good time, what the hey?
Send those pants up here!
Here's some more!
Okay, good-good!
Traditional cotton...oh, how sweet!
Umf...huh-huh-huh-huhhh...
HERE! Work these!
Anyway...
We're in Albuquerque, New Mexico...
A couple of the guys in the band, who shall go nameless
Because their girlfriends might find out
Decided they were gonna work the wall on these girls
From the college
So, one night...it was the first night
When they were still trying to 'get it in there'
(Ya know what I mean? Huh-huh-huh-huh...)
The skinny girl, she says to one of the guys in the band
She says, well, to several of the guys in the band
And one of the T-shirt guys too...
"HEY! LET'S GO SKINNY-DIPPING!"
At two o'clock in the morning at the pool at the hotel
That's right, your heard right,
Two o'clock in the morning, pool at the hotel...
It was so fun...
But the water was very, very cold!
So they go out there and the girl who was really skinny
'N' probably totally insensitive to climatic changes
Took all of her garments off and she jumped in the pool
And she says, "HEY GUYS! COME ON IN!"
Well, one of them did...
The other one was too smart for that shit
So him and the T-shirt guy say by the edge of the pool
And when the girl who was really skinny
(And insensitive to climatic changes)
Took off her clothes and jumped in the pool
She threw her pants over there by the little table
Well, one of the guys in the band picked up het panties
(He told me later the stuff in the bottom
Was like punching an eclair...)
Anyhow...there was nothing else to do...
It was Alburquerque, New Mexico
It's two o'clock in the morning...
They're not going to get any nooky anyway...
So this one guy and the T-shirt guy
Started sniffing the girl's panties...
They were sniffing the fudge and sniffing the glue...
Sniffing every 'thing' that adhered to these
Delightful little morsels
(Some of you might think this is weird...
No wonder. It's not exactly normal, but
What the fuck?)
So, they're snorting it...
(Hey! It's the twentieth century...
Whatever you can do to have a good time, let's get on with it,
So long as it doesn't cause a murder...)
So they're snorting the pants
'N' then they put them on their heads...
They were having a good time...
The girl was in the water...she didn't even see
What was going on with her underpants...
They were wearing the pants
It looked just like a tiny little party hat...
Their ears were sticking out the side...it was so fun
Later on they discovered,
This would make a great way of life for them...
They would go from town to town, looking for panties
They would take the panties after they were hung up
On the clothes line
Later on they would take 'em back in the dressing room
They would play with them...
They would fetish the underpants...
They would snort every little morsel attached
To the underpants...and then...they would feel that
They were FULFILLED
And so you can see,
That what we're doing here on stage
Is part of a Great American Tradition
The tradition of the
JAZZ DISCHARGE PARTY HATS

Does anyone know of any popular fascism forums on the net with decent activity? I have found several nationalist sites but I am not interested in that fantasy- multiculturalism and interracial breeding has guaranteed its impossibility. I'll leave that idea to the comic-book nazis.
But it has become clear to me the more I study fascism the more I understand neither the extreme right or extreme left will never be possible in politics....so I'd rather not waste my time contemplating such fairy-tales. I am greatly impressed with the "hard center" principles of fascism.
Neither do I want to be banned for being interested in Fascism. I am as opposed to "supercapitalism" (as Mussolini called it) as anyone else here and I maintain most of my socialist leanings.

The "third way" is fascism, and fascism is not accepted here.
If you have any leanings towards fascism, you will be banned.
Mind you, merely "studying" fascism isn't a problem. Any intelligent person who does a proper study will realise that fascism isn't a viable political theory.

Whats the line between State Capitalism and fascism?
Kronos
15th May 2009, 15:52
I'm currently studying Fascism and I gotta tell ya....it's fascinating. There is much I don't understand yet but I'm learning.
So far I've discovered that it is a bit of a misnomer to refer to it as "state capitalism". Capitalism does not fall under government jurisdiction while corporatism does. So the difference must be that a government has a "hands off" policy in capitalism while in a fascism, the state has the right to appropriate corporations at any time.
According to Mussolini, fascism practices "the bureaucratisation of the economic activities of the nation." So state capitalism here is really interchangeable with state socialism.
Furthermore, many of the characteristics of capitalist hegemonic principles such as imperialism and monopoly do not exist in a fascist state, as far as I know. I'm not yet sure about trade policies or importing/exporting labor and goods, but I am under the impression that a fascist state focuses on its own internal integrity and industrial power (provided they have proper resources). In a sense it seems like an intense kind of economic isolationism, but I also keep in mind the historical context of past fascist states- they emerged during great political conflict (Italian fascism as a response to the Versailles treatise, as was the German Worker's Party)- so I imagine the nationalistic sentiments of a fascist state would not longer exist.
I'm noticing that the context means everything. A fascist state is like a great explosion of competitive, heroic economic spirit among a people....which, of course, requires some external opposition in order to organize. I don't think such oppositions exist anymore so I don't believe the romantic ideology behind fascism is the same. But, I am still impressed with its "hard center" politics between the extremes of capitalism and communism.
Just suspend your judgment of fascism for a moment and read up on it. It is very revolutionary, very radical, very "revitalizing".
