One of the best players in the world, Kaka of AC Milan, may be going to Manchester city for a world record smashing £91,000,000.

His proposed wages would be £500,000 a week, putting him at £2,000,000 a month.

I love football and i think this is crazy...

Ridiculous prices aside, what are Man City thinking? All that money has resulted in no real consistency in the league, leading them into a precarious situation and an inevitable relegation dogfight. Fuck spending 91 million, why not get a solid attacking midfield player, and a half decent centre back (which they need desperately) who know the Premiership and can get them out of this?

In other news Scottish fitba > English 'football'.

Man City will just end up like Leeds in my opinion.

It would be funny if the cheeky fuckers got relegated.

Why would Kaka want to go to City? He already earns a good amount of money, and he's even playing at a club that actually plays in the Champions League most of the time.

Manchester City won't end up like leads because they actually have the financial clout to be able to pay for these players.

My main problem with it is from my perspective as an Arsenal fan. I mean the parity between Arsenal and Manchester united is huge. Berbatov and Rooney cost more than the whole Arsenal first team. For another club to have access to huge funds, which Arsenal will certainly not be able to match, endagers their already shaky hold on the fourth champions league spot.

It also seems like an odd move from Hughes. They have a great attack at the moment:
Robinho/Caicido
petrov/ireland/Elano/Shaun Wright Phillps

I'm the first to admit that Kaka would be a great improvement, but shouldn't the be concentrating on a defender?

Man City have been shipping goals of late and the really need to get rid of Richard Dunne. Considering the financial muscle they have, surely players like Per Mertesacker (Werder Bremen) or Cristian Zapata (Udinese) would be a bigger priority.

there should definately be a wage cap, 2 million a month is fucking stupid money.
I think a wage cap would suit all those involved, and will stop bigger clubs luring players away by unsettling them with golden wage packets

My football "philosophy" is just a plain FUCK DEFENSE PLAY OFFENSE!!
as match goals as you will get you only need one more to win, so if you have a great offense you get to the point(which is to score of course) and always be ahead of your opponents!
Of course having super offensive players and a banch of useless defenders then it means that you are not cable of managing a football team!So as Man City, there offense is really good but they have so lame defense and middle defense that they cant get a proper league position! Its obvious that their president dont knows from football he just throws away millions to buy superstars so he makes the team a "popular" shop so he get benefit of it!!Nothing more!Thats why if they continue with this philosoph they will fail dramatically!Football isnt a stars thing, see real before 2-3 years or more for example!!Barcelona sold ronaldinho and they are "flying now"!

Definatly, it makes the whole thing a lot more equal. If that was the case, then Arsenal would flourish wheras a team like Chelsea would go where they belong.

However, it would have to be Europe-wide scheme, anything else would just but English teams at a huge disadvantage.

I like your style. But after seeing so much disappointment from Dutch teams, I must admit that a strong defence can be helpful. Of course, we don't have Jaap Stam and Frank de Boer anymore. :(

Totally right. "Galacticos" are a sad joke now, City are heading that way too. At least they'll still be able to pay for the pleasure. As long as the investors don't get bored, anyway. ;)

i would say it would have to be world wide due to long term factors, but it would make the game better, Chelsea would do well buying players with their wealth but it would stop unfair practices and such lark.

Ciddy can wish they were heading that way, but unfortunately, they're more likely to remain bog standard and shit, and one Kaka is not going to change that. Real Madrid, on the other had, have won everything, several times.

One Kaka maybe not, but a Kaka and a Robinho could. They ain't going to leave it at that either.

Kaká is an amazing player, but fuck. That's just ridiculous.
He's also an evangelical Christian.
