The world wide economic crisis has exposed the flaws of capitalism so clearly that all people, not just leftists, can see those faults clearly. This crisis is not going away anytime soon, no matter what the powers that be do to try and clean it up. The public sees that the blame for their miserable economic condition lies squarely on the corporate elite that has gotten us into this disaster.
In addition, those who hold power in large corporations are behaving badly, wasting the money given to them to help rescue them from the consequences of their errors, in such as way that everyone can easily see their immorality, stupidity, and greed.
For a long time, the Middle Class in America has not listened to the Left, or ridiculed it. Now, for the first time since the 1930s, we have their attention, and a chance to convert a sizeable portion of the American public to a Leftist point of view. They are willing to listen to us, and willing to see the strength of of our views, if we can present those views coherently.
We will not have another such chance anytime soon. Let us make the most of it.
