Last year, India was being shocked by the Maoist attacks on jails, police and Indian military. They freed many political prisoners and widened their area of influence.

But suddenly beginning from the end of August, all the blogs of the Indian maoists stopped publishing the news. Indian Maoist's "legal" internet site stopped to make any new declarations. For example they were also making very important comments on the situation in Nepal and on Prachanda revisionism.

Now its almost impossible to find something about them. The last post of some maoist blogs goes back to august.

Do you have any idea about what happened to them? Or do you know any up-to-date blogs or sites?
Curiosity kills me! :)

I have noticed this as well, the same has happened with Nepal's Maoist website. I would enjoy some updates, if anyone has any links they feel the need to post, please do post them, will you?

It's just a lull in activities, the CPI (M) is still out there and still growing in strength. And there's plenty of info on this site and on other sites like www.southasiarev.wordpress.com if you want to find out stuff about Nepal.

Yes I know there are plenty of sites on Nepal.

But I wonder how can a movement like CPI-M leave this area so untouched. Even a monthly news article, an analysis should be provided by the Party.

If they do not do that, other reactionary, revisionist sources fill this gap.

Likely the Naxalites have better things to do than ensure western internationalists are kept up-to-date on their day to day situation.

I heard some time ago that one of the chief editors of Naxalite news was arrested. If memory serves, he was the chief producer of the Naxalite's monthly newspaper/magazine.. though not 100% certain of that. I think he was also released.

A news source by the enemy. But with daily updates.
Seems like the Naxals are working hard.

I would think that the more bold activities by the Maoists have ceased due to the recent Islamist bombings, much like that temporary cessation of hostilities by ETA after the Madrid terrorist attack.

They've been carrying out attacks, there's been numerous reports of them killing police in certain areas.

My thoughts exactly. I would imagine that they don't want to start a new violent campaign to risk being lumped in with the Islamist attacks that happened recently. They likely want to distance themselves from those tactics and those groups.
