Are you always so rude, arogant and unlikable? I particularly like how you speak in such an authoratative tone to a member of the board who has made more of a contribution to this board than you and is also more liked.

In short yes I believe in being honest about my dislike of religion and try my hardest to demystify it at every opportunity.
The first two abrahamic faiths (Judaism and Islam) were designed with two base principles in mind which helped the originally tribal rulers of the time immensely.
The first is to make those within it subservient to a god's representatives (generally religious and political leaders.)
The second is to make them hostile to outsiders (people of other religions.)
These two principles helped tribal groups to survive by making them stick together and making them ready to fight to survive if called upon to do so this caused these tribal peoples to have a solid cultural identity and become powerful.
Ironically when the Christians came about from the Jews and tried to preach forgiveness they were persecuted and then absorbed by the biggest western empire of the time and learned essentially the same lessons but on the far larger scale of the Roman empire.
As such the Abrahamic faiths are designed to let leaders as god's representatives to declare wars and force the people to obey them. Despite all of them viewing death as a terrible crime in times of peace.
So when I read that they are squaring up to each other I'm naturally not very suprised.
