I've just realised that Creationists believe the earth began during the period most archeologists would consider to be the Agricultural revolution.

Obviously you are talking about "young earth creationists" rather than the slightly more sophisticated ones (such as those in the Catholic Church), who just say "God made it all", but don't give a year.

Intelligent Design yea. I was refering to Yecs, people who added up the ages of everyone in the bible and worked out that the family tree went back about 6000 years in total.

This does actually concern me, about half of the UK does not believe in Evolution, and Creationism's not even taught in schools.

According to Dawkins in "The Enemies of Reason" or maybe it was the other one. But yea, I know 44% of the uk does not believe in God, which is far behind the rest of Europe.

I found that a lot of people at my old college considered themselves christian, but in reality just didn't have an opinion one way or another.

I think there is an attitude amongst a lot of people from England that some how saying you beleive in god gives you some kind of moral fibre. Which means people not particuarly interested either way, will say that they beleive in god.

In England there is generally a lack of willingless to make the kind of effort atheism deserves. Rather people sit on the fence of wishy-washy agnosticism and may say they believe in god one day and that they don't the next.
