Its the autmn 2008 issue - I have a question about it. If anyone has it or has read it cold they please state so here and I'll explain what I want to know.

If you turn to the double page spread Focus on... the london underground cleaners, theres a paragraph on the right hand page article which says "Such an erstwile Black trade unionist has no place representing workers in Brent, the most diverse borough in London, where new generations of migrants have fought year after year in unity with previous generaitons of migrants". I don't understand this paragraph, what its trying to say or who its about.

Ah, in context it's saying that as an ethnic trade unionist she is not upholding the fighting tradition of previous migrant trade unionists and workers.
I believe it is refering to the labour councillor who refused to enter the meeting because there were "illegal" workers involved in the discussion.
