The basics of Marxism is scientific, so: "that what works, is used, the rest is adapted or put in the trashbin". Stalinism put itself into the trashbin of history really.

Marxism is more about analyzing capitalism than a communist ideal.
Maoism is a kind of stalinism, stalinism and troskyism are both kinds of leninism, and I don't see any kind of leninism is communist.
They are definitely not a communist ideal anyway.

I think vanguardism has proven itself to be a failure.

I think vanguardism has proven itself to be a failure.
Yet the vanguard, as the politically most militant and aware layer of the working class, is still a daily fact of life. How can it then be a failure?

I suppose vanguardism, in the sense that it has been assaulted from all sides by western colonialism every time it is attempted, is a failure.

Begin by paying no attention to what "-ism" a system is called, and just ask about each social system you find: does this system have a democratic process in economic life? Does this system accurately measure the choices expressed by the people and then make that the official policy? Do the workers in every workplace freely choose their own managers and supervisors?
