US, Britain or where?
Either way, I'm gonna say no (although I like SWP in the UK)

I know that my mom voted socialist workers party back in the 80s, don't think she is a member though (US)

There's a difference between being registered with a particular party and being a member. Registration is something done through a state government, and the options for registration vary widely from state to state. In New Jersey, where I'm registered to vote, the options are Democratic, Republican, Green, Libertarian, Conservative, Constitution, Reform, Natural Law, and independent/unaffiliated. There are a few states in the US where you can register to identify with a socialist organisation (almost always either the Socialist Party or Socialist Workers Party), but that that doesn't give you the rights of being a member of the organisation.

Bit of a rant, but I think it's an important distinction to make.

So in my case, I'm registered as "unaffiliated," but am a card-carrying member of the Socialist Party USA (I'm also a member of Solidarity, but they don't have membership cards.)
