The strike was planned before all this kicked off. The copsfear it'll be 'maniuplated by radical elements', i.e. the strike and demonstration will become 'violent'. Who knows what it'll lead to though.

with correct preparation from our side it can lead to anything imo!
as i see it now, people dont have the necessary "nerve" and "calm" to do so for now though, the rage of the killing of our young comrade has passed all over our hearts and minds and revenge seems the first option now!I am not saying this in any way against the actions of greece people, i am all with them and support them! However with a little more in mind thinking this could lead us in something big, and that would be the best of our revenge against state and its supporters, fucking cops!

We can only hope.
If the various anarchist groups, the communist groups and the unions can figure out a way to work together and show solidarity, good things might come of this.

A little late,but wth.
The PM of Greece sent a letter to the workers' federation (which is corrupt btw, bourgeoisie and reformist syndicalist groups occupy its leadership) on Monday asking for the strike to be cancelled, in light of the unrest because of the murder ofAlex Grigoropoulos by that son-of-a-dog cop.It was rejected and the strike went on as planned.

The general strike, that was planned for one day, wasn't much compared to other events happening in Greece. Less than expected members went out to the streets.

we have to show our support for greece. A guy for my school organized a solidarity march for greece with BAN and we are marching on the greece consulate in Boston tomorrow. Most people I talk to have no idea there are riots in greece, awarness needs to be put out.

Some small parties in greece have called for another general strike on thursday. This i heard from someone at a meeting for a solidarity demonstration in the netherlands on the same day. Though, the guy told me, it's unlikely that such a big strike will happen (seeing as only some small parties are calling for it), something will happen.
