A trusted comrade brought this up in a discussion today.
The development of Genetic Use Restriction Technology (GURT) serves as a compelling arguments against the production of GM crops under capitalism.
It ties in closely with intellectual property patents.
Basically MNC's such as Mon Santo engineer seed's that lack the genetic components to reproduce, and as a result famer's are forced to purchase the seed's on an annual basis.
I am not against GM generally, there are endless posibilities to this technology, but I found this disturbing.
How can we support GM when intentions lean towards profit?
