Funny Story about a Stupid Canadian

I know I have told this story before, but there are some stupid Canadians here who have yet to hear it (Felicia).

I was standing in line at a local convenience store when I heard someone with a horribly gutteral accent yell, "why won't you take Canadian money here? We take your money in Canada!"

The competent store clerk, very frankly, told him, "because it isn't worth anything."

The stupid Canadian frantically grabbed his Rocky and Bullwinkle coins, and said, "we will see about that!"

Finally, he threw a temper-tantrum and ran out of the store. The funniest part was when the door hit him in the face, as he stormed out.

I have to laugh everytime I think of that exchange. Nope, I won't be spending my vacation in Canada this year. I hate the fucking panty-waists.

Americans in my international school think that the Nile is in South America and that Brussels is in Germany...
they wont admit that bonaparte and napolean were the same person....
In an english speaking school they always pull the lowest grades(my SAT score in 10th grade is higher than most of their seniors).... They live in a country for five years and cannot speak the language....
They barely know their own leaders...
Their reasons for war on Iraq is "Iraqis are bad"
They have the political knowlege of a lemon
They call everything they can't comprehend "gay"
such as : Shakespere, Plato, books.
They don't even know who was in World War One
Overall they are usually wimps, who run to their parents when they have the slightest bit of trouble.

Canadians are a hundred times cooler, at least from my expieriece of going to school with many nationalities. At least they know where planet earth is. And they stick up for themselves, as opposed to crying to someone else

That reminds me of a time when I was at Heathrow and some yank was talking to the Guy at the check-in desk ahead of me (silly idiot was holding up the line as well) was trying to get it round his head that Rome was not a place in France, and that he could not fly to Paris and then just take a taxi to Italy. Ever watch "Talking with Americans"? It's a whole television show where we make fun of you, well actually, we have a canadian asking questions to americans to get responses. Ahh, one of the best was when some americans actually believed that insulin was illegal in canada and they were signing a petition to lagalize ot. Oh, and another petition was for canadians to legalize staplers, because they're illegal up here you know.

We really need to get by all this stupid nationalistic crap.

Felicia, you really have to stop being so easily upset by comments like Ghost's about Canadians. Contrary to popular beliefs, that is not how we all feel in the U$ about Canadians.

To make a statement that "Americans are fucking stupid" is ridiculous.

MIT (inarguably the greatest engineering/tech university in the world is in the U$, as is Cal Tech, Rennsalaer, Harvard Law, Harvard Medical, John Hopkins, etc.. etc... I would even venture a guess that a lot of Canadian doctors and engineers were schooled in some of these universities. They come from all over the world to do so.

As far as picking ourselves out on an unmarked map, well no one I know can't. If you can solve the Nav problem I posted above, go ahead. If you can't, I wouldn't make the offhand remark that all Canadians are stupid and couldn't find themselves on an unmarked chart.

That was the point I was trying to make with that post.

For eample, that show I was just talking about went ot Harvard to ask "questions" to the students and professors there. the asked a poli sci professer something about canadian politics (that was completely made up) and he embarassed himself really bady. That's a small example since you think that going to harvard seems to make you intelligent. Big deal, they know only about what they study in your american school, that doesn't mean shit anywhere else, nor to me.

When I made the statement about the nationalistic crap, that was directed to everyone including Ghost.

Last weekend I watched two Canadians get in a fight because one was a Oilers fan, the other guy said "You can't be an Oilers fan in Vancouver, go back to Edmonton" about 10 minutes later they were wrestling in the street. So we've pegged them as drunks and fighting morons.

Mcgill is a nice university. I have a friend going to Bishops in Montreal :)

You should learn some french before you go, seriously. My friend when to montreal when he was younger and he asked the clerk, in french, how much an item was. His frenchwas bad and he accidently asked him how to say the price. The clerk told him to "fuck off". In montreal you can get away with not being to well with french, but if you want to travel around other parts of Quebec, it's good to atleast have a basic knowledge of French. If you want a job as anything other than a telemarketer while you're in school.... you'll need french. But don't let that deter you, you'll pick up a lot of the language just being here.

I've found a link for you. Pretty much everything you'd need to know is there..... plus I think that I may have some McGill information booklets around here somewhere...... you can easily write them for an information package, I'm positive that they send them out :)

I’m pretty sure McGill had a reputation for putting quotas on how many Jews they would accept. Jewish Montreal author Mordecai Richler (RIP) often condemned them for such vile acts. I think Montreal, because of its large orthodox Jewish population, has always been rather anti-semetic....not unlike anywhere else with a similar demographic.

Of our people go to Cuba on vacations, GOOD FOR THEM, I'd like them to contribute to the Cuban economy if they can. We don't make petty differences in ideology turn into a travel ban. I was never complaining aboiut the lack of american tourists, I'm just has happy to see lest foreign capitalist in my country. In fact, a week or so ago, I ran into a few american lisence plates, showing that they're still around..... I was referring to the americans taking our wild game. haha, I know. It's hilarious. The best parts are when they ask political science harvard professors question about canada and they embarass themselves. There was one where they were asking environmental student about the canadian envirnment (or somthing like that) they should've known the answer.

When I was in lower school they used to make us learn the capital citys of really obscure countrys, like the ones I posted earlier, they are just the ones I can remember, Burkina is actually the easyist to remeber just the hardest to spell...

Also most of them are ones I have studied for A-Level/GCSE geography because of there poverty etc... Very nasty some of them... especially the capital of Kenya.

Since I don't have immediate access to the 2003 Nautical Almanac, do you think you could provide the following data for me:

I am pretty sure I need this information to complete part A and C, and that I can only find them in the tables.

One part B, I'll make an approximation based on what I know. Since, you mentioned that the sextant was reading 2 minutes off the arc, I must add this to the measured angle. Furthermore, I must correct for the dip of the sea horizon (assumming a bubble sexton is not being used), using dip = 1.753sqrt(h), where h is the height of the observer in meters. Since you did not give temperature and pressure readings, I will not correct for the refraction effect. The formula that I have requires these measurements.

Therefore;

60.98 degress and 1.753sqrt(3.048) = 3.06
+ 0.03 degrees

61.01 degrees

57.95 degrees

The intercept is given by Ho - Hc. According to this, and the Data Given from the Sight Reduction for Air Navigation Tables, Pub. #249., the intercept is:

Ok, listen closely. Before, you were talking about slaughterhouses, generally they are thought to kill cows, pigs, etc. So I said that I don't eat red meat. I don't eat white meat either. Ocasionally I'll eat food with fish in it, or some other kind of seafood that hasn't been through a slaughterhouse.

When rounding numbers, if the digits that the rounding depends on is over 5 is't rounded up. 8 is obviously higher than 4 (which it would need to be to round it down)

If anyone wishes to understand what was meant by my statement, I suggest reading the 25 paper document, "Workers' Unrest and the Bosheviks' Response in 1919" (http://www.angelfire.com/nb/revhist17/brovkin2large.pdf), by Vladimir Brovkin. This essay appeared in the Slavic Review, Volume 49, Issue 3.

Basically, what it says is that following the October Revolution, which most workers supported in solidarity with their socialist counterparts, degraded into widespread discontent of the workers, due to poor treatment and mismanagement by the commissars.

At this time, the Bolsheviks Reds were actively involved in fighting a civil war against the Whites. The period between 1917-1921 marked a time of peasant uprisings, and general strikes, by people who felt that the Bolsheviks were betraying the workers, who used their namesake as justification for their revolution. Poor rationing, and the suspension of free-elections of factory management left them with bitter feelings that moved them to express their anger in gradually increasing levels. Further ignoring the demands of the people led to widespread disillusionment.

It actually is a fact that canadians do have, on average, have higher IQ's then americans. And there was a time when our dollar was worth more then the american dollar. Also i have so many americans that think we all live in igloo's and eat penguin meat, and they are serious to now that is stupid. but unlike some other individuals who make generalizations, i wont stoop to there level and say that all americans are stupid, i have met a couple smart ones, they moved up here to canada.

That is, until they gain power in one of the countries they have successfully weakened by attacking its borders, language, and culture. Once installed, communists are perhaps some of the most nationalists people imaginable. Fascists and communists also have this in common. Jeez, the common ground between nazis and communists is never ending. Appealling to affect is just one way to help a population forget about the inhumane conditions both governments have a habit of creating. Nationalism of this type is definitely evil, since it is just a tactic used by fascists and communists to pull an entire population into the groupthink necessary to commit genocide or politicide. 100,000,000 dead last century due to communists nationalism. It's horrible how this type of nationalism is turned inward on its own people, in an effort to reduce dissent.
