Well I can define a few.
Proletariat: the working class, oppressed by the bourgeoisie
Vanguard: revolutionary party, leads the proletarian revolution. Belief held by Lenin that in order for the revolution to be successful it had to be led by trained revolutionaries.
bourgeoisie: the ruling class(obviously the one we want to eliminate)
I know others, but it's late and my brain hurts.

The Marxist Internet Archive (http://marxists.org) has an encyclopedia full with communist terms.
It might be better that your site just links to the relevant terms?

A couple of months?
Howto setup a website:
1. you register a domain name at some company and buy hosting
2. you install a content management system on said hosting (Joomla for example (http://www.joomla.org/)) and configure it to your tastes
3. you put content on website
How does this take months :confused:

I emailed the following comment to the author of the "revleft dictionary" sticky topic.
subject: comment on revleft dictionary
This definition in the revleft dictionary is incorrect:
"Reformism
A name given to politics which means to change society through a legal process ie parliment and the judicial system."
The difference between reform and revolution has to do with how fundamental the changes are. If we keep basically the same social system, but make surface or cosmetic changes, that's reform. If we have a change to an outcome with fundamentally differently structure and principles, that's revolution.
The distinction has nothing to do with whether the changes are legal or illegal, or made through the legislative system or not, or made through the judicial system or not, or slow or fast, or peaceful or violent, etc., etc. The only distinction is how fundamentally different the result is.
Reformism means to seek to preserve the present socioeconomic system fundamentally, but change some of it external manifestations.

If this site could have a list of organizations rooted in the left that would be great too. I often am left woundering what these random acronyms people throw around mean. I know the basics but a lot of the international ones I have trouble on. maybe a timeline of communist and anarchist history too. make it a good learning tool for all, not just beginners :cool:.

I have had to work on a website from that start in my computers class. It was a class project and I did all the networking for the site. Make sure that if you want to get the sites name out, atleast a bit, advertise it on various sites, maybe revleft. Dont rely on google hits alone because sites pay for their placement on basic google searches most of the time. I know sites often do free pluging too, that is you advertise them and they will do the same. same kinda thing that killed the .com boom, but they paid for plugs.

(Assuming that you're talking to me...) I don't want people to simply copy pages from my site, because a lot of it is my personal opinion, and because some of it is copyrighted material that I reproduce with the written permission of publishing companies, and because I need to fix errors in the master copy as I become aware of those errors.
Wherever my site reproduces a 100+ year old work of literature, it's clear that the copyright is expired, and the document now belongs to the whole world.
As for linking to my page, no one needs anyone's permission to link to anything online. And everyone appreciates incoming links.
After you link to me, let me know so that I can link back to you. This reciprocal linking improves both site's google search rank, if the two sites are about the same topic, although it reduces google search rank if the sites are about different topics.
btw how long did that take you?
About a half a minute per day, for a year and a half.

You said you are new at web development. Be advised that there are specific methods to improve your rank in google searches, so you'll be as close as possible to to page-one search results. The most important is to use keywords in the <title> tag, for example, if you had a page about pet snakes, a good title tag would be "Pet snakes, care for reptiles, and feeding serpents." Never use unnecessary phrases in the title tag, such as "my home page", etc. The second rule is to use an <h1> header that contains exactly the same phrase as the <title> tag. The third rule is to begin the first few hundred bytes on each page with a paragraph <p> tag, which contains complete and grammatically correct sentences formed out of several keywords. But if you pack too many keywords there, so that the google software detects that it's obvious you're trying to cheat, it will lower your search rank as a penalty.

Yes, beware that Google is not kind on cheating websites.
Also, extending on the international remark, it would be nice to have a world map (a wiki?) on which you can click on each country and get extensive information of left organisations in said country.
It would sure help a lot.

People need to type HTML (hypertext markup language) if they create a web page from scratch without, using software to do it. If you use software to create your page, and then you use a text editor like notepad to look at the document that the software has created, you will see these codes. Even if people use software to create it all, sometimes they find it useful to go back and manually edit the document that the software has produced.
The language that produces a web page has a structure something like this:
<html>
<head>
<title>This is the title that you see in the blue stripe at the top of the browser</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>This is a large header typed across the screen, such as the name of the site</h1>
<p>This is a paragraph</p>
<p>This is another paragraph</p>
<p>This is another paragraph</p>
</body>
</html>
In that simple example, I have omitted the pretty stuff, such as font sizes, colors, margins, images, etc.

Everyone here will be very happy to answer technical questions if they know the answers. Later when you run into technical problems, I guess the forum here named "DIY" would be a good place to start a new topic and ask how to do things.

Almost any wordprocessor, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Works documents, when you type and save any file, you can click "file", "save as...", and then choose the HTML option. You just produced a document that can be uploaded to a web host. There are lots of people here who would host your files for free. So if the technology is an obstacle right now, just keep accumulating knowledge and making notes and doing your creative writing. After your have some content written, you're almost done.
