Are you serious? Centre-left is basically the same as conservative, except for some minor issues.

who are the two 'left leaners'? dion is practically a conservative and duceppe's only goal is a separate quebec from the rest of the country. layton's alright for a mainstream politician i suppose, but im certainly not putting any faith in him or in this coalition. and guaranteed that before this goes through harper will dissolve parliament...right in the middle of a major recession, thanks alot douchebag.

Why would harper dissolve parliament?
And the NDP Layton is not doing much of any thing to help Canada. He not going save Canada from going to US model.

the bloc quebecois is pretty leftist, helped the ndp several times.
they want to do efforts to protect the forest industry, wich mean thousand of jobs, maybe millions.
Harper cant do squat if the general governor support the coalition.

Sounds like a pretty good result, fingers crossed it will turn out well. The problem with coalitions is that they often end up getting in each others way and never acheive anything and in this situation, that would lead to the conservatives getting a large enough majority to defeat the coalition.

i am a canadian citizen/resident. this will be interesting, i despise the Conservative PM stephen harper, but the members of the coalition have proven that they lack leadership skills. im torn between poor leadership and a hatrid of conservatism. no doubt im in favour of it, but theres no way of telling how well it will go.

This coalition won't do much good. These parties are still not true representation of the working class. I'll have to say it's the lesser of two evils. I can give you that.

you know, you are not forced to put that crying smiley all the time...
Layton talked about helping the car and forst indfustry, and a lot of worker depend on those sector to make a living. The thing you dont seem to realize is that, if they dont help the economy a LOT of people gonna be on welfare beccause of the lack of job.
go to the NDP website, there is some nice progressive things, and they are talking about social program on their platform.
i expect people showing up and whining about the fact the NDP is a bourgeois party but seriously, to those people, fuck you.

STOP PUTTING YOUR TRUST AND HOPE IN YOUR GOVERNMENTS, they're gonna let you down, trust me.

It's not about putting trust in any government it's simply belieiving the fact that a liberal government will be better, even if it is just a bit better, than a conservative one.
Nobody thinks that the coalition is going to be some kind of left with liberation in which the working class will be saved from opression. People do think, myself included, that it will be a more positive canada for having a more liberal government,

Canadians split on removing Tories from power: poll
In the midst of a coalition showdown, Canadians are deeply divided on whether the Conservatives deserve to stay in power, with 35 per cent saying the party should continue to govern and 40 per cent wanting change, according to an Angus Reid Strategies poll for CTV News.
If the government does collapse, respondents were equally split on whether a coalition government would be the best option for Canada.
Slightly more than a third of Canadians said they would support a coalition government formed by the opposition, when asked about their preferred solution if the government falls:
Opposition coalition: 37 per cent
Holding a federal election: 32 per cent
No sure: 24 per cent
Allowing the opposition to run by accord: 7 per cent
If the opposition ran the House of Commons by accord, it would mean one ruling party with the support of one or more parties who do not have MPs with cabinet posts.
The online poll, conducted on Dec. 1 and 2, also asked Canadians about their comfort level with the Bloc Quebecois involved in the coalition, and whether they wanted Liberal Leader Stephane Dion as prime minister.
According to the survey, 57 per cent agreed with the statement that they were "worried about the Bloc Quebecois becoming involved in the federal government." Another 30 per cent disagreed.
In Quebec, only 36 per cent agreed, while 47 per cent disagreed with the statement.
Meanwhile, 64 per cent of Canadians across Canada said they would be uncomfortable with Dion as leader of the government, while just 25 per cent said they would be fine with the idea.
In Ontario, where the Liberals traditionally pick up the lion's share of their votes, 60 per cent said they would be uncomfortable with Dion as prime minister. In Alberta, the Conservative heartland, it was 83 per cent.
Under the terms of the coalition, Dion has said he would govern until a new Liberal leader is chosen at a convention in May.
The survey also asked respondents about the issues that sparked serious discussion between the Liberals, NDP and Bloc about a coalition: the need for a significant stimulus package for the economy, and whether political parties should receive public funding.
A full 75 per cent thought the government should implement a stimulus package as soon as possible, while 17 per cent disagreed.
Thirty-four per cent supported political parties receiving public funding based on $1.95 per vote in the general election, while 48 per cent sent thought the parties should rely solely on their own fundraising.
Technical notes:
The online poll was conducted from Dec. 1 to 2
It's based on 1,012 randomly-selected Canadian adults
The margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 per cent, 19 times out of 20
The results are statistically weighted according to the most current education, age, gender and region census data

no wonder they are worried of having the bloc quebecois in power, i am quebecois and i am worried too.
english people are worried beccause those assoles(bloc quebecois) always tried to separate quebec from the rest of canada, when not doing it, they just fuck around the whole federal politics, since we cant win an election, its just a party representing us.
french people are worried mainly beccause its fucking ironic to have a pro separatist movement HELPING a federalist movement taking power, its just too fucking odd, Imagine the political branch of the sein phein helping a brittish prime minister to be in power, this is, that odd.
i really fucking hate the bloc quebecois, but fuck it, layton gonna be in second, limitating the damage.
