This is for all those who are convinsed that the BBC is strictly under Gov control and not an independant body... I am sure that Alastair Campbell would disagree, considering what the BBC said about him.

I've always thought that the BBC does a damn good job at being as impartial as it can be. Even if it delivers a biased account of something it generally tries to ensure that it will also show an account biased the other way.

Although i have heard arguments from both political sides saying that it is eithe a right wing govt tool or a Commie conspiracy organisation

Yes that suggests if both side hate it that it is somewhere in the middle. But I gave up trying to point that out last time someone got it into their heads that the BBC was completely right wing... blar blar blar... capitalist tool... blar blar blar... oppressive... blar blar blar.

When I pointed out how that was not true I was told that if I liked any BBC programs I was a nationalist, I am still getting over the stupidity of that comment.

I think the BBC is pro-capitalist and has to be that way.

But it's pretty clear that there are people there who are extremely pissed off with Blair and Bush; the BBC's daily coverage of the U.S.-British occupation of Iraq is so harsh that much of it could have been written by me.

It suggests that something interesting must be going on "behind the scenes"--perhaps there are significant capitalists in the UK who think the war was an act of criminal folly and the occupation will, as time goes on, radicalize a significant portion of the population both in Iraq and, more importantly, in the U.K.

Or perhaps there's someone high up in the BBC who thinks Tony Blair is an asshole and is determined to "bring him down".

Whatever the case may be, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. The utter humiliation and public disgrace of Blair might have some unwelcome consequences for the prestige of the Bush regime.

Bush has already disowned Campbell's dossier, they are on their own on this one, All UK media ridicule Bush for the goofy clown he is and always will. The liberals at the BEEB are only biting the hand that feeds in a fit of pique.

In truth it has no real legs, we are after all into the silly season...It will be put to bed soon enough. It is humerous to see Bush abandon Blair over this......
