It would be nice to actually see some propaganda going out.
Does Revleft every do organizing and such?

We do organizing around our actual organizations that we are in outside of the internet.
Revleft is mainly for discussion. Generally, to organize people one needs to face to face contact.

RevLeft is simply a discussion forum, or as the logo says, (an online) home for the revolutionary left.
It's not meant to be an actual real world organization. People here can organize through the organizations they are affiliated with.

Although maybe it should be.

Well there has to be something done online. Internet is a great way to pass along information.
I was actually asking the question in general.
Why is there nothing going on at all?
It might just be me, but I really have not seen any attempts of "appealing to the masses". Just individual commies arguing whenever they have the chance.

I'm not sure if there is a section as yet dedicated to the groups/organisations that most members seem to belong to??? (maybe someone can reply or point me to this?)
It might be a good idea to at least advertise the groups one belongs to, to help the newbie like myself get involved.
Even if it is just a thread with the appropriate links...
I understand that there could be some people who visit or join RevLeft that are looking to break apart our movements etc, so, talking about organisations online could be risky.
But we should definitely advertise them in someway. Maybe PM someone who is shown to be in a particular movement you want to join???

A revolution is not going to happen in Canada or the US :(the economic conditions are not ripe enough.
A revolution will have to happen in other countries and than it will spread to the US and Canada.
Or we will have to go into a major great depression has the material conditions do not exist for a revolution in the US or Canada.
What we need look at is other potential countries.

Groundless speculation.
We need a forum where we can plan this stuff.

You shouldn't be so pessimistic!
We are heading full-steam into a major great depression! Who knows where we will be in a few years...

I think it would be very difficult for the whole forum of revleft to do organizing since it is made up of such a broad spectrum of beliefs among the Left from Stalinists to anarchists.
If what you're asking is if revleft members are active and are organizing well I suppose that depends on the person, their level of commitment and seriousness and their own personal objective situation.
As for myself I am in contact with a member of the IWW and considering joining them.

That's a bullshit excuse to not be raising class awareness.

Nonetheless, there are still values or ideas that most of us share (anti-capitalism, equality etc). We need solidarity despite any differances, because this economic crisis could be a golden opportunity for the left if they weren't so divided by themselves.
We should definately put out some mainstream internet propaganda to appeal to normal people. Just simple ideas or concepts that they will understand and likely agree with. Most people are against the war, against the current state of capitalism, etc, and we can use these issues to introduce them to socialism.
Or, perhaps we could organise into differant groups (anarchist, stalinist, luxembourgist etc etc) and each produce our own propaganda that is distributed by a united RevLeft campaign organisation.

How much riper do they need be!? Capitalism has been embarrassingly showing its flaws lately and people are begging to question this economic system. What needs to be done is for people to start asserting alternatives to capitalism.
Stop waiting, the time is now! Get out and organize.

I am actually doing this right now
Revleft is a great place to learn about communism and learn the criticisms, up-sides, and ideologies of various parties and groups so that you can get involved in the real world.
Revleft is just a discussion/debate group for communists though. If you want to preach the Bad News of capitalism, you need to find a group and get out there and get involved, or maybe make your own; whether these groups be in the real-world or on the internet. :)

why not try to bring consciousness to the west. It wont be a dominate force but every person counts. maybe if organizations helped in the community and if we spread our word out then we could atleast get rid of the stigma of communism. We should wrok to spead it everywhere we can.
Does Revleft have enough funding to do activists campaigns, I doubt it. Unless your weathpasting revleft posters on the side of buildings any propaganding costs money. I know that revleft has internet banners, use those.

I'm content with what Revleft is/does. It's helped me tremendously in having some foreknowledge about the politics of the groups I've engaged with in real life. Even more, it's helped me to put their politics in perspective by comparing them against other groups (who may not even exist in my area).
