If you could only listen to 5 songs for the rest of your lives what would they be.
I realize that listening to 5 songs for the rest of your life might get annoying, but its hypothetical and if there was no limit people might go on for a bit.

Mine are:

1) Sex Pistols - Holiday in the Sun
2) The Clash - Bank Robber
3) The Ramones - I wanna be sedated
4) Rage Against the Machine - Freedom
5) Coheed and Cambria - Mother Superior

I'll do my top three because top five is clearly not enough. Personally i feel top 10 would be more suitable.

2. Pressure Drop - The Maytals
3. Europe Endless - Kraftwerk
4. Transmission - Joy Division
5. What difference does it make? - The Smiths

I can only think of four songs which are, without a doubt, my favorite of all time.

David Bowie - Drive In Saturday (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAqUDDMhfA0)
Les Thugs - I Love You So (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCekQ47Yse8)
The World/Inferno Friendship Society - We Will Never Run Into One Another On Trains
The Promise Ring - A Picture Postcard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CW-4ubJNdQ)

Couldn't find anything for the third one...just know it's really great.

I'd need a good mix of chill tunes and revolutionary-spirit inducing tunes (in case the revolution starts when I only have these 5 songs). Not necessarily my all-time top 5 (although the Björk song is), but here we go:

Björk - Bachelorette
Depeche Mode - Stripped/Policy of Truth (can't decide)
RATM - New Millenium Homes
Sepultura - Refuse/Resist
NIN - Happiness in Slavery

2. Napalm Death- "Suffer the Children"
3. Aus Rotten- "The System Works for Them"
4. Conflict- "The Ungovernable Farce"
5. Rotten Sound- "Burden/Sell Your Soul"

2. Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
3. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
4. Dire Straits - Sultans Of Swing
5. Neil Young - The Needle And The Damage Done

MAJOR props for this list - major...
I would take Going to California and/or That's The Way over Stairway, the Floyd songs are solid, Wild West End over Sultans, and Down By The River over Needle. You could argue either way though...

But that said, here's a better list:
1. Bob Dylan - Visions of Johanna (easily the greatest song ever written)
2. Van Morrison - Astral Weeks
3. Fairport Convention - A Sailor's Life
4. Joni Mitchell - Cactus Tree
5. Arlo Guthrie - The Motorcycle Song

Chapter 24
16th January 2009, 17:54
Wow... this is extremely difficult. If I made a list up right now on the spot - that is, I put down songs most meaningful and amazing to me at my present music taste - the list would probably look like:

1) All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
2) Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
3) Heaven and Hell - Black Sabbath
4) Roundabout - Yes
5) Today Was a Good Day - Ice Cube

This is subject to change though.

Very crusty. I like.

I love old school crust, grind, anarcho and death. :blackA:

Nowadays, everyone forgets that music is about some kind of struggle.

EDIT: And right now, I think I'm gonna replace "To Lower Yourself (Blind Servitude)" with "Suffer the Children". I just can't enough of this song right now.

I never listen to the radio.

And I consider them great songs because I never get sick of them.

I never listen to the radio.

Well that explains it...if you grew up with the radio stations I did, you would find it is possible to get sick of anything. And I mean really sick.
