Hi everyone,

My name is Ty and I am very new to this.
This is the first time I have felt the need to join a political-based forum.

I have recently voted in my third election of our multi-party political system. I made sure I made an informed decision when I cast my vote, and voted for a 'Left' party because their policies were for many people, and their economic plan made a lot of sense to me.

However, they got no-where in the election.
Official results showed they got 0.9% of our countries total vote!file:///C:/DOCUME%7E1/Owner/LOCALS%7E1/Temp/moz-screenshot.jpg
So about 12,000 people... So, I guess they have a base to work from...

Anyway, It has awoken my own political development- and really I am here to broaden my understanding and define it.

I know I'm Left, an Anti-Imperialist & Anti-Capitalist but past that I'm not sure what I should call myself. The label isn't important other than to help identify my political standing. The trouble is I'm not sure what ideology I identify with...

So Hi! and can you help?

Ty

You can call yourself a commie maybe?

That part is kinda self-explanitory. I think he means which particular branch of Communism.

Hi again!

Yeah, I'm really keen to sort this stuff out...

All the main figures of Socialist/Communist thought are inspiring,
and knowing how I line up with them will be useful.

I love especially Che Guevara's thoughts, Marx, Lenin & Trotsky.

I am lifted in my spirits knowing that I am not alone in my Socialist thoughts. Seeing people, who want the best for everybody, and not just themselves.

I am inspired knowing that Revolutionary Movements are springing
up around the world. Not everywhere, as yet but peoples consciousness
is arriving at similar conclusions to the corrupt and deceitful goings on in the world.

Hi there. I'm new to the board, as well, and trying to get off on the right foot. I would suggest the works of Peter Kropotkin to add to your list, particularly "The Wage System" and "The Conquest of Bread" (which you can find online).

I am eager to read as much as I can, thanks for the helpful suggestions.

Why do you suggest Peter Kropotkin? I am not familiar with his works.

I have read material from Marx, Engels, Lenin, Trotsky, Guevara to date.
