Today, Anti-Racist Action members from Pennsylvania and New Jersey descended on South Philadelphia to let the community know about a
violent neo-Nazi living in their neighborhood. Douglas Caffarella, of 1430 Porter Street, Philadelphia, is a member of the Keystone State
Skinheads, a statewide Pennsylvania gang of neo-Nazis who are currently attempting to build a presence in Philadelphia.

Caffarella is currently facing multiple weapons and assault charges
after an assault outside of McCusker's Tavern on 17th and Shunk
Streets. The target of the attack – a potential KSS recruit -
sustained multiple fractures and cuts to his face, along with a broken
nose. Remember, this is someone they were trying to recruit!

While fliering, anti-fascists were confronted by several people who
knew Caffarella. A person who claimed to his childhood friend said "He
can't be a Nazi - he has *A* black friend," going on to say that
people in the neighborhood don't care about Caffarella's white power
tattoos and shaved head. He and another friend of Caffarella's
attempted to take down all the fliers posted; fortunately, in the
busiest areas we glued the fliers so good luck with that!

Caffarella's brother-in-law was also seen tearing down fliers and was
so enraged when he saw the neighborhood blanketed with Doug's face he
confronted the ARA members, threatening to kill them if they came back
to the 1400 block of Porter Street. "If you guys come back, someone's
going to get shot. I'll blaze you. I've got six shots for you."

This brother-in-law also denied Doug's involvement with neo-Nazi
groups. It seems not only is Caffarella too much of a coward to
confront Anti-Racist Action directly, instead sending his friends and
family to do so, but he is obviously too much of a coward to be honest
with those friends and family about his neo-Nazi politics.

We will be back to Caffarella's neighborhood in the very near future.
In the meantime, we will continue publicly outing all of the other
Philadelphia members of the Keystone State Skinheads.

does the whole gun culture of america not make such confrontational anti-fascist extremely dangerous, it is a dimention i cannot really comprehend, i mean i can run if shit hits the fan worst the fash will have are knives.

Do fascist 'gangs' actually go about with guns in the US?

Lots of people in the US have guns. I would say it is about an even number of antifa and fash that own guns here. But to carry a gun on you (legally) requires much more paperwork and investigation than buying a gun. That said, yes lots of people carry guns on them, and the serious WP crews do carry guns. But the fact of the matter is gun crime carries some serious weight in the US, and if you get into a firefight in the middle of the street you're gonna get caught, and you're looking at 5 years for the gun (more if its unregistered) and a couple years for each bullett, and then if you actually did shoot at somebody, you've got attempted murder.

In short, I have never been afraid anybody was gonna pull a gun on me when doing antifa work.

It generally isn't an issue. We know they probably have some guns lying around, most of us do as well but it isn't like we'd carry them on an action and they would never do that. Usually the have specific orders from their leaders to leave any and all weapons at home. Obviously this gets a bit trickier in the case of fliering around a neighborhood, but like cmoney said the odds of them pulling a gun in that scenario are basically nil.

That said, sometimes it can get a bit frightening when you have a sort of "tit for tat" with personal information going on somewhere with some vague threats being thrown around. I've known people who carried their gun on them when that sort of shit was going down; it isn't a pleasant aspect of antifa work. Oftentimes when that happens it isn't even the main people they're targeting but loose hangers-on who aren't as careful with their info, which just makes the whole situation more frustrating.

Dudes you came to his neighbourhood.

From what I have seen of the KSS they want to pull a 'community building' B.S like their 'comrades' in eastern Germany.

If he has been putting in even a little work in his community people there are going to know him and like him [yes nazis can be likable, its not an impossibility].

I dont know if what you did is the correct approach.

Not that I have any suggestions mind, if the fash actually have built up community links in the area about the only thing that will shift em is a mass march or a picture of them with a swastika on their arm. And it looks like the KSS are not QUITE that stupid.

The fash are still dumb, but they have had to get smarter just to continue existing in a new world.

On a certain level I find the evolutions facinating, sort of like watching a virus mutate!

western european neo nazis also own guns. In the Netherlands and in Belgium there are a few cases were B&H members were caught with army weapons (in Belgium a lot of them were in the army and they were planning a coup) .

They might. We have concealed carry in Pennsylvania. I may know people who are non-fash and are absurdly well armed (legally) when they go out and you wouldn't even know.

What's also interesting is that there's apparently a chapter of this group in my area...
