Why was Chiak47 banned?

I just recieved a PM from him telling me he was banned. Why, after over 780 posts would you decide to ban him now? Many of the things he posted were of intelligible content, and, many of the threads he started managed to spark good reasonable debate.

So what happened?

Chiak was banned because he was posting pictures of suicide (there are people here who have lost friends to suicide, it's not really a joking matter).

He was also banned because he seemed to be a largely unconstructive poster. Most of what he wrote was merely an attempt to insult someone.

I thought he was a kind of funny, and an alright guy in some respects. I kinda liked him, being honest. I don't think he was a very positive addition to this forum, however.

That is possibly the case. I'm not sure if there are that many who could be placed under such a discription. There are those who attempt to insult, but they offer far more productive debate outside this forum. In truth, many view Opposing Idealogies as an outlet for frustrations. It's pretty much a flame board, at this stage, at times.

I feel that Chiak's premier input into Che-Lives was slagging (i.e. flaming).

The unfortunate reality is that people will be prejudiced towards those that are liked and those that are unliked. For obvious reasons. It is not professional, but this is not a professional environment.

I don't think it's the way it should be, but I do feel that Chiak was very disruptive. He hasn't really provided me with much reason to indicate otherwise, even though I'd like it if he would.

LOL! You almost caught me there, DC. I was going to ask for a link to something, anything Chiak has said in his time here that was remotely intelligent. Then, I realized you said intelligible.

So Chiak posted things that were remotely coherent? Con-fucking-gratulations! That's not a very good argument in favor of debanning him.

It's true many others are guilty of being assholes, but Chiak is the Ben Johnson of assholity. He relies on pictures of dead bodies to get under people's skin when he can't do it with words.

Anyway, he crossed the line one time too many. There's a lesson there somewhere.
