I have now had second thoughts about supporting Barack Obama and I now have realized that is in fact the capitalist as a class that is the problem and Obama is just another representative of that class. I still believe he is better than Bush just not someone claming to be a socialist or revolutionary should tell working people to support. I want to thank those that helped me understand this. My main concern is that would an Obama presidency usher in a qualitatively better situation for working people to make a revoution in? I think there is some credence to this argument but in the final analysis Obama represents another faction of the capitalist in no way will do anything positive on behalf of working people.

Some would argue that, in a material sense, while the actual living and working conditions of workers might improve marginally, Obama's presidency actually staves off the prospects of a revolution. All the anger and resentment towards the government that has been building up as of late has, for the most part, been quelled by Obama's election.

It has had 8 years to build, but it hasn't. If McCain had won, arguably the Democrats would have yet another opportunity to present themselves as the progressive alternative. now that Obama is President, they are going to be responsible for their actions.
