It means you can only post in Opposing Ideologies, and no other forums. And only if you do not flame or post racist/xenophobic/nazi things. It usually requires part of a brain.

Hmn, maybe I fucked up the wording, but you are restricted TO this forum, not FROM it. Have a nice day ;)

Yup. I was myself very much on the fence regarding Andrey, without the personal attacks he would probably be welcome in the rest of the forum (despite the whole Checnya issue).
The flaming just got out of hand...

Yes seeing the banned in big capital letters under billys Board name brings me a smile of sadistic pleasure... Job well done Admin.

Glad I could help ;)

p.s. he was restricted yesterday, then after starting this rather insulting thread and further discussion in CC, I let rip with the ban. It is provisional in that if there is some valid objection made to the ban it will be reviewed, as the original vote was sort of hazy on whether it was a cage vote or a ban vote. However, I don't see this as being a likely eventuality.

you admins are on quite the banning spree...I hate to think that, one of these days, the banning situation is going to be very reminiscent of 1929 Soviet Union. I believe a beurocracy that Trostky credited his exile to has already been implemented here.
I joined this site last April, and it seems the problem has only gotten worse with this gung-ho, Stalinistic banning deal. Right now it's only the cappies. That's fine. But what may come of it is an all-out, expedient trial of anyone whose ideology does not fall in line with that of the adminstration.
Look at us. We already rejoice when a member is banned. I say we ease our finger off the purging button for a time and restrain ourselves from jumping too soon at presumptious, rabid conclusions.

The calls for banning have always been there, only now the admins check in often enough to be able to ban as soon as complaints arise and votes are gathered.
I understand your concern, I am very anti-authority after all, but I don't agree that there have been any gung-ho actions taken, nor do I think equating us with Stalinists is appropriate.
This is not the first step towards banning everyone we don't like, far from it. Banning is something not to be taken lightly, and I invite anyone that has any good arguments for why a particular ban is unjust to raise those objections! These things are taken to a vote in CC for a reason.
Any dissenting voices will be heard if they are reasonable and constructive. I simply think bigbill and others are never going to be constructive, nor reasonable. We are banning people that come here to start trouble, people who seek us out to tell us they hate us.
That won't stop, it may even get more common if there is support for it in CC. Basically, if you are offensive , racist or disruptive you might get banned, if you are not you have nothing to worry about.
Perhaps some sort of warning system is in order, but this is something that should be discussed in CC, and definitely not in OI! :)

i apologize for raising this discussion in OI. Perhaps I should move my comment into CC.
I did not mean to directly associate you with Stalinism. I simply fear that, sooner or later, there may be some true communists who are banned on the grounds of being "offensive" or "disruptive". I am simply looking into the future, to where this destructive path may lead us. i believe my call for concern is justified. Frankly, it makes me sick to see such rejoicing at the banning or caging of another member. When we express such jingoistic joy, or say in jovial passing "Let's celebrate and ban some cappies", I am fearful for the state of this community.
That's all. I apologize if I offended the administrators. This discussion is hereby moved to CC.
