Maybe. I was thinking about the ethical virtue theory and how it looks at developing the individual into into a perosn with virtue and then seeking to develop these virtues even more. Can this be applied to communism and trying to develop equality, respect and a hardworking nature among others?

No. Virtue and Vice are all relative and based upon morals which are usually defined as good and evil by some religious facility. Religion has no place in communism, and is one of communisms greatest enemies. This is like asking 'so should all the serfs work hard and become noble lords?'

I acept that I am wrong but virtue in its greatest sense. Developing the person into a virtuse person i.e. courage, right ambition, Modesty etc...

You should learn to meditate. Then the right thoughts and actions will arise instinctively.

We must activate our 'higher' senses, in order to evolve the race. All this ideological duality is like splashing around in the mud, it's never going to get you anywhere.

But surly it is best to aim towards these ideals even if you never get there!

Here is an interesting article I found on www.marxists.org concerning the Marxist position on virtue/ethics: http://www.marxists.org/reference/subject/...ks/en/wilde.htm (http://www.marxists.org/reference/subject/philosophy/works/en/wilde.htm)
