I am talking about bands that actually say something not the kind of bands where all they have to say is "fuck you america" thats just stupid.

I'm sorry but I'm not a big fan of SoaD anymore. I use to be, but not for their message. I still like the self titled and Tocicity. Serj is really bad now, hes just really now hot topic rock now. Sorry for bashing them but If you want some good leftist music listen to some punk. The Clash and Dead Kennedys are classic political punk bands that actully gained good amount of popularity. For other bands I would say Leftover Crack (Choking Victim), older Against Me!, Unity Punk like Common Rider and Operation Ivy, Reagan Youth, the Unseen, Bad Religion, stuff like that. All those bands have messages and are much more thought out than "American Idiot" or "Praise the Lord (pass the ammunation);):D".
Really good songs with even better messages:
Baby I'm An Anarchist - Against Me!
American Jesus - Bad Religion
I Want To Control The World - Bad Religion
Fuck America - Chocking Victim :D
Know Your Rights - The Clash
Straight To Hell - The Clash (may sound familiar to you MTV veiwers ;) )
Kill the Poor - Dead Kennedys
Holiday In Cambodia - Dead Kennedys
Gang Control - Leftover Crack
Super Tuesday- Leftover Crack
Officer - Operation Ivy

There are so many bands that convey leftist, anti-capitalist/fascist lyrics. You should try and become familiar with underground music, because there are plenty of underground bands who aren't just up on stage superficially, and are trying to reach people.
Comrade Sabbath posted some good bands, that should get you started. Explore punk, ska, metal, hardcore, and indie music, and you will find many bands i think you'll enjoy.
Ill list some bands I listen to, that may or may not interest you:
Agnostic Front
Against All Authority
Ska-P
Catch-22
Bad Brains
NOFX
The Casualites
Rancid
Rise Against
Anti-Flag
Pennywise
If you want more just ask, and ill try and list some more.

Tbh, I thought they were just another one of those bleeding heart liberal amnesty international types. Sort of like the OP.

A really awesome rapper is Immortal Technique. He's not associated with a label as of now, however he does have three albums out he produced through the money he won from rap battles. His sociopolitical views are definitely quite leftist, and in fact he has described himself as a "socialist guerrilla". Not only are his views quite compatible with socialism, but his rhymes and beats are phat (for lack of a better word).

The Coup beats Immortal Technique in every way. ;)

I like IT as a rapper but his producers aren't the greatest.

I used to listen to SoaD back in middle school. I still could listen to them if I had to, but, I dunno I grew weary of mainstream music and began to hate anything associated with hot-topic.
I listen to a lot of crust and anarcho-punk
Check out:
Aus-Rotten
Antischism
Dystopia
anti-sect
amebix
discharge
some less crusty:
Crass
Flux of the Pink Indians
Omega Tribe
Thats all just one category-ish of music. I also listen to 80's hardcore, post-punk, 80-90's emotional hardcore, indie, grindcore, d-beat
They all got some pretty good ideas behind their music, all very leftist politically speaking besides maybe indie, emotional hardcore, and postpunk which are all not necessarily political

The extremely enthused but admittedly new and unexperienced OP who wants to learn all about communism while living in a conservative household? You could stand to be a little less dismissive.
Os Cangaceiros

Ministry
Zounds
The Dead Kennedys
All three of those artists bring something unique to the table.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of crust punk, and while bands like Crass may be ultra-political, I largely find their music to be quite dull.

Zounds are good.
I've seen a lot of people on here for not liking crass, but hell, I've always liked them
