Am I the only one having trouble accessing the Cuba Truth (http://www.cubatruthproject.org) website?
At first, I thought it was just my computer acting up, but it seems to have been taken down. It was a great page for citing sources...any one know what's up?

Not even a response or whimper of information? Somebody besides me has to be concerned. This web page was extremely useful! :(

Yeah, sorry about that. The host that was being used was no good. A new one has been found and everything is being moved over. It was supposed to be done today, but I haven't heard anything. I'll keep you updated.

Great website. It's probably the easiest way to refute critics of Cuba and a good example of how socialism works, despite US sanctions, terrorism and manipulation.

I don't get this. Considering they're a small island, they've accomplished a lot if the stats on that website are reliable. Then why is it most movies on Cuba always portray the negative side? I mean, there are many liberals in hollywood (who love to attack US), and while they may not be leftists, they usually try to be open-minded, so why is it they haven't come up with any movies showing the real cuba?

Yeah, that was a pain in the ass.

Hollywood was forcefully purged of communists decades ago, and the legacy is as can be expected. Also remember who owns the films companies. I'll give you a hint, it's not your co-workers.
There are some things out there that show Cuba in a positive light (or at least don't lie outright) though.. Sicko comes to mind.
You can also see "Fidel: The Untold Story," (http://workerspress.com/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=114) which is as much about Cuba as Fidel.. and "Cuba: An African Odyssey."

Because liberals in Hollywood and the middle and working class are still rooted in bourgeois hegemonic ideology. They do not really question these things, at least not very strongly. This probably stems from the fact that, unlike most other ideologies, liberals are completely theoretically bankrupt. Even fascists have a more developed world-view than liberals. They pretty much view the world in very vague and largely emotional terms on what they think it means to have a free and just society (something like Western Europe). And though they may bash the US on many things, they ultimately see the base structure of the US and its foreign policy as good, but in need of fixing. So it comes as no surprise that they believe the propaganda about Cuba being a totalitarian police state where everyone wants to kill Castro.
And of course, as NHIA said, the corporate movie studios ultimately call the shots, and they see no reason to show a truthful image of Cuba.

The problem is you're watching movies about Cuba from the U.S. Cuba has its own film industry, you should watch their films.

Very impressed with some of the stuff on this site,it makes for a great read.I think better citation of sources for the stats would make it a far more convincing reference for right wingers in political debates.
I think it could also be expanded significantly, but I suppose there' already people on it.
