Can someone please suggest leftist films/docos/youtube vids relating to the current global financial crisis? I'd like this content so that i can learn more about what's going on, understand it better - but primarily so that it can be used in public film/etc. screenings.

Stuff that explains the causes of the crisis, how it works - or even media that relates to a previous financial crisis but in a way that reflects on the nature of capitalism generally? (So would also be somewhat applicable, message wise with the current situation).

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Thanks, that's a good start! I want to get together as much media on this topic as possible :)

Joe Hill's Ghost gave me a few links over AIM that were supposedly really good. I did not get a chance to watch them before my internet died, though. I'll see if I can get them again and pass them along to you. :)

You might not consider these explicitly leftist, nor do they deal directly with the current financial crisis--but each of these deals in detail with one of it's essential precursors. They are both very well made, and rank in my top 3 documentaries--and I watch a lot of documentaries.

The Corporation (http://www.thecorporation.com/) is an entertaining introduction into how corporations suck.

More relevantly, Life+Debt (http://www.lifeanddebt.org/) is a fantastic essay on the workings of the WTO and worldbank in Jamaica/in general.

Both are available on google video, but especially for life and debt (which has a lot of gorgeous shots) I recommend checking out the real thing, with higher resolution.

You might consider assembling other materials in such a way that together they suggest a leftist perspective?

Did you check out this thread: Understanding the economic crisis (http://www.revleft.com/vb/understanding-economic-crisis-t91844/index.html)? There is lots of links and vids there.
