Perhaps our resident pro-capitalists will muster up a tad more scepticism when the Bush regime offers its excuses for the next war.
Suckers!

Question prompted to Defence Secretary Geoff Hoon:
Why were no WMD found?
--That's because Saddam Hussein had so much prior notice and warning of an impeding war and invasion that he had time to conceal the weapons perhaps underground so that they would be difficult for our inspection teams to find.
Then why did he not use these "weapons" against the invading troops?
--This is because the invasion took him so much by surprise that he had no time to get ready or fire the weapons.

Do you really believe the BSh you are writing, happyguy? Or was it some kind of irony? 1. He was given plenty of time. 2. He was taken by surprise. A contradiction here?

by all technical definitions, that would make Bush and Blair war criminals...

If you're saying that he didn't think that amerikkka would attack him, I believe you're wrong.
So that, therefore, is a contradiction in terms.

it was pretty obvious to the average guy on the street that the US would attack Iraq no matter what inspectors found, I'm sure Saddam knew this as well, however he probably also knew that using WMD against anyone (if he had them) would prove the US was right and reduce the integrity of the anti-war movement which would increase general public support for a war with a large group changing to support the war, a more realistic long term strategy would have been to destroy any such weapons therefore giving post-Saddam punishment to the US and British governments, however this is unlikely to be sucessful against the US which is highly nationalistic.

Im sure that the USA knows the truth regarding Iraq's WMD, because they sold them to Iraq in the first place., however that by no way means the Iraq does have WMD. Unless you count scuds, which is unfair as they are only capable of carrying WMD.

The US are the only "inspectors" in Iraq now, couldn't they plant weapons there to justify the attacks?

Bah u watch Bremner bird and fortune then as well Happy Guy? lol. But all that bullshit about Saddam not using his weapons because it would "prove Bush right" is bullshit not using his weapons isnt gonna stop his country being invaded, if he had any weapons he would of used them. He doesnt give a shit bout public opinion. But i think everyone knew he had no weapons of mass destruction it was just a facard to give the war credibility.
