I am aware that a thread is floating around focusing on a high school club (http://http://www.revleft.com/vb/spreading-leftism-high-t82413/index.html) but I was wondering if anyone was willing to help me with a leftist college club. I am starting from ground zero here and have no memebers, no advisers and no current support. I doubt that I would have much support for an anti-capitalist club or a socialist club so I thought to just make it a basic leftist club. Its open to far left democrats to radical revolutionaries. I am planning to do community service, do a lot of off campus work, protest, networking with other oganizations, awareness campagins, and other activites. It would cover a wide range of social and ecomonical issues ranging from environmentalism to worker's rights to equal health care. If anyone could give me tips on how to acumilate memebers or get funding that would be great. If anyone knows if there is a website that would send discount communist or leftist flyers that would be great too (planing on putting left information on all the bus stops in the area). Got any other advice?

I would advise you to make sure there are areas that the club can actually be involved in if you want it to be activist oriented. Every group we've ever had in my area has fallen apart because there was not enough action and not enough struggles for us to connect to.
So find struggles that the group can be involved in and establish connections there, then when you promote the club on your campus you can say those are the things you guys will be involved in.
Or you could decide to make it like a study group/debate society.

One thing I'd advise is to ensure you don't end up "biting off more than you can chew". If you try to do serious campaigns for environmentalism, students' advocacy (ie: abolishing tuition fees), broader economic issues, human rights, anti-imperialism and on and on, with only a handful of people, then your campaigns will likely lack the necessary engagement and commitment.
Try focusing on one sphere (not to say one issue). And connect whatever your struggles are to the experiences and issues directly relevant to the rank-and-file student population, all the while encouraging mass participation.
