Oh $hit!

That is creepy.

that's insane.

and what really creeps me out is this new surge of genetically modified fruits and vegetables. for example, something like potatos (may sound farfetched to some people but i'm very sure you all will take this to heart) can become a "menace". a potato can become virtually indestructible, immune to a bunch of pesticides if their growing gets out of hand or grow to be absolutely enormous, and a bunch of other fun-but-harrowing facts that i can't remember at the moment.

and please remember to wash everything carefully before consumption, particularly grapes and apples.

As far as I can, I only eat fair trade and organic. Obviously this is impossible at school so as far as possible I try to avoid meat and eggs. Occasionally i fail, because the vegetarian option just looks so inedible, but I try.

At starbucks today (I had to go, no choice) I ordered fair trade coffee. They only do it in a cafetiere for 2 people so my friend very kindly shared, and she was paying, which was really nice of her cos usually she isn't into fair trade and organic (she says she needs little luxeries and turns a blind eye to this because she needs to return to a slightly normal world in termtime, she lives in Singapore and often works in orphanages out there, looking after small kids who've been sexually abused, which is really incredible. She's got some awful stories). But they had to look for a cafetiere specially, shows how few people drink fair trade. I challenge you all to go into a café and ask for fair trade coffee. Hell, go into every café you can think of and ask, just so they know there's a demand for ethical coffee.

Luckilly, I live on a farm, so I don't have most of those problems

I recommend buying from organic farm shops, but it's up to you to find your local one.

Revolutionary beans, that's the funniest shit I've ever heard.

I hear chicken noodle soup makes an excellent rifleman.

I try not to eat things that are not fair trade. But it's nigh on impossible. I admire you mentalbunny, for doing what you do; I don't have the gutso to do it. I plan to grow-my-own when I have the chance, however.

Aw happyguy, I really don't do enough. I think my mum gets a bit annoyed at me, or at least laughs at me, because all my food has to be ethical and she finds it annoying to have to check everything she buys for me! Also my friends get annoyed cos they're too busy being apathetic and I just disrupt their cosy ignorance! The trials of having a conscience!

Just try, that's the main thing. the odd failing is perfectly acceptable, god knows sometimes I'm so selfish that I just want that lulxery that might be less than ethical. At least we're trying.

I don't buy that much of my own stuff anyway, and I try to get my mum to buy ethical groceries. But you're practically an Amish compared to me!

Lol, I don't quite practice what i preach, recently (last few days) I've been back eating intensively farmed meat, but what can you do? I try.
