Seriously, i had some thinking about religion and god, and seriously, i used to believe god was an almighty god of good intentions.
but after a good week of thinking, i somehow realized that if god would be mercyful, he would have been avoided all those mass killing. and a shitload of bad things.
My definition of god cant possibly exist, and if my definition of god dosnt exist, i prefers not to believe in god mainly beccause if he exist, and he actually using us has puppet or letting us killing each other for his personnal pleasure, god must be one sick fuck.
i would like to believe in god, but after all those logical thinking it just dosnt make sense.

if god is an illogical being then there is no burden on him to treat us logically. So for all we know we could turn up at the gates of heaven without a stain on our character and still be thrown into a lake of fire.

That I believe is the jist of the Calvinist position.

This is known as the Problem of Evil: If God is good, why does he let people do evil things?
The usual answer is that God has given humans free will, and this necessarily includes the freedom to think evil thoughts and perform evil deeds. To eliminate evil, God would have to either prevent us from doing what we want to do - which would result in a benevolent but highly totalitarian world - or he would have to remove all evil wishes and thoughts from our minds, which would make us no longer human.

Yes, and that is why I think Calvinism is very creepy.

I just feel that logic has progressed humans so far that to follow an illogical idea would set use back. It is very rare that an illogical decision furthered history. Logic is up in the air, but mainly anything based in science can be considered logical. Now if god was illogical why would he make humans advance with logic? Its ether god is the most unintelligent person (or thing) ever, likes to fuck with us, or doesn't exist. I would never worship anyone with any of those traits. God was the first example of humans explaining the unknown but just because it was the first doesn't mean it’s right.

Good for you! It's quite liberating to leave all that crap behind. When I stopped believing, I remember feeling a burden lifted off my back. I didn't have to worry about supernatural bullshit anymore. Don't look back...pretty soon you'll be wondering how you could have wasted so much time believing any of that crapola.
i would like to believe in god
Why?
but after all those logical thinking it just dosnt make sense.
Indeed. The concept of an omnipotent being can be very easily shown to lead to a logical contradiction. And that's not even the least of the problems with believing...

There was always something that disturbed me about the fact that God supposedly loved me, yet was willing to let my soul be tortured for all eternity if I didn't follow his edicts.

hehe, yea feel great, but i still believe in something, and its called the human mind. Unlike god, its real and its fucking amazing. What so much people told that this was from god probably come from here, miraculous idea, beautiful and artistics thing, mistical things.
you can shape your mind the way you want things, its all about mastering it.
all the most terribles and great things in life are and where determined by that.
from the nazi germany legion to the human right movement in the us, all come from people minds, and thgeir power to change other peoples minds.
its frightening yet beautiful.
and its real, unlike god :D

I began to not believe in God when I began frequently reading and not watching television.
This was strangely similar to my experience in abandoning christianity. It took my about a year to become atheist as fuck though. I considered myself an agnostic for awhile in between.

Took me a little while too, going though an agnostic stage. The biggest factor in my decision was probably learning alot about psychology and the human condition. Along the same line Science helps, because it teaches you to find evidence e.i. there's no evidence that god(s) exists. Beleiving in a religion is purely an emotional act, and I think logic and reason should come before emotion. Not to say all atheists are perfect or anything.

For me, I loved when I stopped believing mainly because it gave me a sort of inner strength. Instead of relying on mystical powers to help me through problems, it taught me to rely on myself which opened up a whole new world it seemed.

This was my case as well. I would have constantly remind myself that when I got pangs of fear from "what if I'm wrong and their is a God", it was just the years of having theism drilled into my mind surfacing.
It is a lot harder to break away from then many people think, but when you finally do break free of it I can honestly say that the feeling is quite liberating

Not really, the Calvinist position is that God selects those who he will save, and those who he will burn. The notion is rarely that good people can burn while bad people can be saved, because they usually couple salvation and sanctification together, thus the unchosen will never truly seek God, and thus never be saved.

Well if you want the truth that god is unreal talk to a priest !
I talked to a priest about god and i told him to give me a proof that god is real 'and he couldn't give me a proof he just told me to try to belive without any proof because then i will feel god inside me and inside his creation .
After this i was sure religion is just a way to manipulate people
