Ok, I don't have a lot of contact with DNC supporters but my roommate is a big Obama supporter. Now I thought that it was cute that he was wearing Obama shirts and downloading his speeches for emotional support, but now its getting creepy. He watches them like every day for two hours straight. Anything Obama on the TV he watches religiously and was literally dancing and kissing the voter registration form that came in the mail. What scared me the most is that that he purchased this new T-Shirt that Obama supporters are now wearing; its the one where Obama is Clark Kent, ripping his suit to reveal the Super-O costume underneath as if to insinuate that he is a super hero coming to save America!

Are all Obama supporters this frantic about him? Do they really believe that he is going to radically change the country? That he is somehow this messiah?

Didn't you here that he brought the sun back? http://www.thedailyshow.com/video/index.jhtml?videoId=183507&title=Obama%27s-Miraculous-Speech

There is a reason that right-wingers like to reference him as the messiah.

No.

A lot of people do think he'll radically change things ad think he is a messiah of sorts. More people are registering to vote than ever before because the do believe he will make radical changes and a convinced by his speeches and charm.

What do Ron Paul, Obama, and Marx have in common?

Their cheeks are red from ass kissing.

All political movements have people who idolize too much.

A lot of people at my school are fanatical about an Obama presidency, even though most of them can't vote.

That was fucking hilarious.

not all of them.
i know people who see him as a modern jesus.
and others who only support him as a lesser evil to McCain.
i couldn't care less who wins personally.

People are just desperate to get rid of Bush and his gang.

The Republicans have Reagan, and now the Dems have Obama. Republicans are always looking for the next Reagan incarnation, and Dems the next JFK. Americans are messiah crazy. It's such an easy solution.

The world is f'd-up, Jesus (or whoever) comes back and, boom, everything is hunky dory! You don't have to do anything; you just have to wait!

The whole messiah thing was always mixed up with politics and kingdom.

Let us hope, then, that Obama is not a JFK, but a Roosevelt.

hes a cult of personality. People eat him up becuase he looks different and says he's for change even though he's very pro-imperialism and pro-capitalism. he's in, cool and marketable. I have seen everything from Obama cut outs to Obama thimbals. To many people will be voting for an image rather than a belief. Never back yourself behind a man, back youself behind a policy.

I've been saying that to Obamaniacs, and Oh God, do they flip out. They ramble on about non sequitur and conveniently ignore his disregard for the working class, farmers, and the (true) victims of war and NAFTA.
