Tkinter, you missed the point. But just think about it. You are living in America, and are displeased with the way the government is working. Then, USA is defeated by a socialist country, who decides that USA shoul be run by socialists. While this will have an extreely positive effect on things like freedom of speech and press freedom, you are unlikely to welcome it with open arms.
Just a purely hopythetical situation

Sirion,
So basically what you're(and him) saying is that it's just one regime being replaced by another?

Thats what we've all been saying! Replacing Saddam with another regime, although most likely a more subtle one.

"although most likely a more subtle one."
one that can't be substantiated?

You may be pleased at the fact that the old regime is dead, but wouldn't be so happy about the cholera, starvation and death the occupiers seem to be bringing.

It wasn't exactly peace and prosperity in pre-war Iraq, CF. The starvation was still there, the death was still there, and I don't know about the US bringing the cholera.
Any post-war country is going to have problems like these(in the beginning).

The US didn't bring the cholera. But if you are desperate, angry, not neccessarily well educated Iraqi it is easy to blame your hardships on the invaders when you become desperate.
