I am wondering where I can find free reliable profiles and data on corporations, like an online encyclopedia, almanac, database, or other.

I have had little luck besides Wikipedia and I need more sources,
anyone know of anything?

If you are looking for some specific profiles on big companies, I suggest Responsible Shopper (http://www.coopamerica.org/programs/responsibleshopper/). Far from being a leftist source, but it's still useful, I believe.
