I wasn't sure where to put this, but it's something that just occured to me. In most aspects i'm leftist except for sex. I still tend to have a very conservative view on sex. Does that make me right wing? Some people seem to think so, but somehow I don't see how a conservative would support Socialism and revolution.

It's not that clear cut. It's pretty common that workers support some advanced politics while retaining reactionary ideas from the past. This could make you anything from a reformist to a left-centrist, depending on the degree of the said conservative view on sex. Do you mean that you are homophobic? Or that you are a male chauvinist? Or that you just don't like donkey porn? Because, I don't have to tell you, while the first two are pretty disturbing, the last is normal (no matter what a random google search implies).

I reckon conservatives would be good at sex, cos they'll put it in once, and cos they don't like doing stuff which hasnt been done before, they'll just keep doing it. :tt2:

I am not homophobic or anything like that. I just find porn very repulsive. I also feel that sex is sometimes overplayed in the media. I don't believe any of that "sex after marriage" crap or anything.

Mmm I don't think there's anything conflicting there, then. You're just a prude and there's nothing saying prudes can't be communists.

I have a ton of conservative values. When it comes to my social life and personal economic issues, I find that I am very conservative. But that doesn't mean we can't change ourselves or fit into a revolutionary setting - you don't have to share your sexuality with everyone else to be a good revolutionary, in other words.

If you don't force your lifestyle onto others, you're still a left-winger.

That's good to know. So my worse nightmare of being a right-winger hasn't come true? lol

Your personal tastes are irrelevant; what matters is if you wish to impose your values on others (through legislation etc), or if you make derogatory and offending remarks about others. As long as this isn't the case it really doesn't matter.
Still, if I were you I'd try researching what precisely I disagree with other leftists about, and for what exact reasons. Then if the reasons were for example purely moral-based and couldn't be defended in a rational argument, I'd try to re-evaluate them.
For me one important part of communism, one of the benefits of it's scientific nature so to speak, is the rejection of abstract, moral principles in favor of ones based on rational conclusions. ;)

I don't try to impose my values on others. Besides, most people in my town are conservative about everything anyway. I'm only conservative when it comes to sex as I said. It could have alot to do with the fact that I live in a very conservative society.

That's not a problematic view and you're not a prude either. Most pornography produced today is very repulsive; and sex is certainly overplayed everywhere, not just in the media. In fact you may have a healthier view of the subject than most people.

Yay! I'm not crazy!(or right-wing for that matter). I guess I can contribute my views to the fact that my parents would always try to keep me away from that kind of stuff when I was younger.
