Under communism, black markets truly flourish. Discuss.

Nice try though.

Why would you buy something on a black market (which assumes that money exists, which it doesn't under communism) when you would just be given it?

I think you mean black markets have flourished in the former Soviet Union, China, Cuba, etc.

Cmoney got it right. There would be no conditions for a "black market" under communism. Why would you want to secretly exchange goods when you're just going through unnessecary trouble?

They already flourish. Big deal. If rogue entrepreneurs want to grow their own pot, go ahead. It wouldn't really be a black market, though, since I don't see leftists supporting the criminalization of drugs.

The alternative to this statement is that under capitalism piracy, freeware, and "black socialism" flourish. Discuss.

I regularly participate in the underground gift economy. I pirate just about anything I'm able to and I make it available to those interested free of charge. And if they (of their own free will) decide to give me something in return, so be it. I don't see why we can't do the same thing with all goods (i.e. voluntary communism).
