What are your views on this. I think we may be able to use it too say thanks to workers who fought against the fash in WW2 and to celebrate every worker who deserted in WW1 and to reamber those murdered by imperialistic wankers.

Although by doing this we need to stay the fuck away from any religous singing no stupid nationlistic flag waving bullshit etc. Just prehaps laying an antifa reef at the least religious ww2 memorial possible.

Your thoughts?

i think it should be rebranded and stripped of all it's gung ho right wing undertones.

I think the deaths of the soldiers should be commemorated but without all this ''glorious dead'' shit. War is not glorious (stating the obvious there )

Yeah and the "oh those 1914 brigades died for such a good cause" needs to fuck off.

Perhaps if we get a big enough get together we could sing the international?

A major problem with remembrance day here in "britain" as well as the glorious dead bullshit is the Poppy appeal/Earl Hague fund.
Obviously the defeat of fascism(replaced by there own type but thats another debate;)) is worth remembering but EH Fund is used to support veterans of the British army. Now any soldiers fighting fascism in the second world war are well gone so the money is now support
soldiers involved in the wars in Ireland,Afghanistan,Iraq etc.

And now every April I sit on my porch
And I watch the parade pass before me
And I watch my old comrades, how proudly they march
Reliving old dreams of past glory
And the old men march slowly, all bent, stiff and sore
The forgotten heroes from a forgotten war
And the young people ask, "What are they marching for?"
And I ask myself the same question

^ thats from a Pogues songs, anyhoo

i think i should still be a solem testement to workers that died in combat, no matter what false reasons had been fed to them, its a shame that human life is used as collateral in imperialistic power politics

I know some WW2 vets who need cash ( my granddad is not one of them but hes giving all his money to my catholic uncle who we dont talk to)

But yeah i think should we were poppies is an interesting question which will require somone (i will do this later) doing some reaserch into it. Yeah alot of wankers profit from the day (I heard the NF are planning to march on the sunday).

Although i still think respects should be paid to our class even though dead people dont give a shit about anything it should be a way of expressing our views on it (which means no flags , religious songs , celebrating WW1 etc)

(also no wanky boom box blasting out rage against the machine)
