I suppose you could say I am a late bloomer and was slow to realize how misguided my life had been for many years. In the last 15 years or so, I have found myself going through a conversion in my views on many aspects of my life. I was raised in a conservative and religious family. I joined the military where I was indoctrinated in the ideas of god, country, patriotism and other forms of right wing, militaristic concepts. I feel as though I have gone through an awakening and my eyes have been opened to the realities of the world. The last eight years have been the icing on the cake in driving me further to the left. I now hang on the words of people like Shubel Morgan, shubelmorgan.wordpress.com and sites like the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist Movement, raimd.wordpress.com. I am no longer proud of this country, and fully accept the view of many throughout the world that it is right to hate Amerikka. Patriotism is a joke. Where once I would have been enraged to see the usa flag burn, I now view it as a proper statement. I can no longer support our military. They do not fight for me nor do I support storm troopers. Finally, a belief in god or religion is for the weak. I am now fighting along with the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and the Atheist Alliance International to get religion removed from all aspects of our life. A godless america must be achieved.
At any rate, I do look forward to the election of President Obama. Although, he is not perfect, he will do more to lead this country to socialism than mccain. It will be a small step, but a positive step all the same.
