those troops were acting in self defense, and nothing more. can't you just concede that?

what is more likely, that they were defending themselves, or that they just fired on an unarmed crowd? US soldiers are more professional that you suggest.

I like how in all these self defense claims, there is never one U$ soldier hurt. They use that excuse every time.

Ur an idiot CI, the paras one the best and most experianced regiments in the world managed to shoot at an unarmed crowd of protestors in the 1970s at bloody sunday, if they can do it so can bloody US troops who are some of the most gun-ho in the world.

Also there are serveral conflicting reports about the insident and no weapons where found on the dead. A US spokesman said that the iraqs had been firing their guns in the air and then leveled them at US troops, who fired in "anticipation". The LT that was there said the iraqs opened fire on them and the US troops where caught in a cross fire and took a few "well aimed shots" and took down the protestors. Although how this is possible with a car riddled with american bullet holes was found at the scene. Now this strikes me as odd as how 2 memebrs on the same side can have such different storys especially since the LTs one has so many flaws in it. Also their are journalists who saw the insident, and they claim that no iraq shots where fired.

Now many of the protestors where students protesting BECAUSE THE AMERICANS TOOK THEIR SCHOOL, and used it as a barracks. It doesnt seem right or just that americans can open fire on a crowd of protestors when they are in an entrenched position of a barracks with no real danger of suffering casultys. They where also armed with rubber bullets, smoke genades and other anti-riot equipment, this wasnt some random unplanned remonsation it was a planned event that the amercians knew that was gonna happen, judge for yoursleves.

Americans, like Israelis, always fire "in self defense" and never deliberately "target civilians".

The record, attested to by observers of every political persuasion, shows otherwise. The evidence mounts from month to month, week to week, day to day.

When the evidence piles up so high that to dispute it is admission of idiocy, what will our pro-capitalists say then?

Will they fall back on pre-World War II rhetoric? You know, "they (the victims) are savages who need a firm hand to show them the way to civilization." Something like that?

Or perhaps indulge themselves in ever-more bombastic fits of hyper-nationalist frenzy--what I called stupidity on steroids in another thread.

Or perhaps fall silent while painful suspicion gnaws at their convictions...suppose the goddam commie bastards are right?
