Do you support the strikers?
Do you hope the strike gets put down to make policing a less attractive job or
or do you not really care.
I think its interesting situation.

I support police going on strike indefinitely. I don't support any of their demands being met.

No I don't support them.
In any country the police play an oppressive role in society and enforcing the power of the state and capitalist system, but in Brazil the police are famous for their brutality and the number of people killed by them is in the hundreds, especially amongst their victims in the shanty towns.
Hopefully there will be a death toll attached to this case of one set of policemen fighting the other set of policemen.

The police who are on strike are the "civil police". Like the FBI or something. The police who were sent to repress the protesting civil police at the state government "palace" (yeah, that's what it's called) were the "military police", who do normal police work like slaughter poor people. I'm sure these cops are very much underpayed, as are most public servants in Brazil. They can all die as far as I'm concerned.

I'm perfectly fine with the cops fighting each other. Who cares if their demands are met?

I support them. Even if they are the police - because if you used to be a right-wing cop and saw what was on the other end, there may be a chance that you'd start to see the bigger picture, gain some sympathy with future strikers, and maybe even stop being a right-winger altogether. Changing hearts and minds has to start somewhere.

Me i want them to have unsafe conditions and shit pay as a deterrent to stop people joining. Many people who i knew who went on to join the cops did it because was seen as an "easy option" to make a living.

well this is a learning experience for those cops but until they join the left they can get their asses shot for all i care.

Yes, because when the police are fighting each other then the state must be in crisis.
And obviously we should hope that the striking police win their demands because this also weakens the state.

i support the strike, if the police are striking, the workers might catch the hint and strike themselves.

We can only hope.
