Ok so I put together some comparisons, add more if you come up with some I am sure there will be lots more.

Capitalism leaves fields un-sewn and stockpiles foods for profit.
Socialism leaves no field un-sewn and stockpiles foods for the hungry.

Capitalism means 50% of the population own 1% of the wealth and 2% own 50%.
Socialism means 1% of the population owns 1% of the wealth.

capitalism means all for one.
Socialism means one for all.

Capitalism is the ability to guide a cruise missile halfway across the planet and still hit a school filled with innocent children.
Socialism is the ability to mobilize a populous against the tyranny of evil and slavery.

Capitalism is idolising Paris Hilton.
Socialism is idolising Karl Marx.

Capitalism is your fear of your government.
Socialism is your governments fear of you.

Capitalism is freedom for the rich and slavery for the poor.
Socialism is Freedom for all and Slavery for NONE!

Mao-
Passivity is fatal to us. Our goal is to make the enemy passive.
Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

Rage-
"Why stand on a silent platform?
Fight the war, fuck the norm"

I don't want to be a downer, man, but socialism isn't something that can be summed up in a bunch of snappy, but vague slogans.

It's the transitional stage between capitalism and communism under which the proletariat assumes state power and rules through the dictatorship of the proletariat. It is the mode of production in which the surplus-value which previously ended up in the coffers of a few is now used for the benefit of the many.

As long as fewer and fewer people define it as Second International socialism - "merely state-capitalist monopoly which is made to serve the interests of the whole people and has to that extent ceased to be [bourgeois] monopoly" - I'm all ears.

Capitalism is idolising Paris Hilton.
Socialism is idolising Karl Marx.

Whaaaat? I can't idolize both? I'm gonna have to tell Paris we're frenemies now. :crying:

But socialists don't "idolize" Marx or anyone else. Idolize, fetishize, deify, it's not what we should be doing.

Ok , well thats me been fairly shat on. :D

"It's the transitional stage between capitalism and communism"

I don't agree with that, socialism doesn't always lead to communism and that isn't always the idea.

Good point, I suppose the right word would be aspire to instead of idolize. I was trying to point out that corporate capitalism has corrupted popular culture into a vast consumerism where almost every facet of music, art and fashion is utilized to take more money from you. The fact that today alot of young girls actually aspire to be someone like Paris Hilton is the final nail in the coffin, she didn't get famous for anything other than having lots of money, its horrid.

I agree. Paris Hilton lives on excess, and her status is inherited, it wasn't earned.
