Can I have some views on this please? What I mean is separatism as a means of solving oppression of x group by a state, what do people think of this?
Apologies if the question is silly or too brief :P

Marxists usually support the right of oppressed groups or nations to separate from an oppressor nations, but usually will advocate not separating. What this means in practice is that while a workers' state would allow any oppressed national group to break from it, it is also the duty of Marxists, especially in the oppressed group, to advocate unity with the workers' state. This way, we are most likely to achieve unity that will not smell to anyone of national oppression.

Marxists might, Anarchists generally do not, since they see all states as oppressive.
