Is everyone here admirers, fans, members of the Comintern or its' affiliate organizations? Does anyone support any other internationals?

First of all, it's hard to have any sort of relationship these days with any Comintern affiliates, what with the organization being non-existent for about 65 years. I would say the Comintern was a revolutionary organization from 1919 to about 1924, give or take, and until the late 20s it contained the left opposition which I would support. After their expulsion and up to its liquidation, it was a counterrevolution organization, which served to derail many revolutions to serve the interests of the Stalinist regime.

Yeah, that wouldn't be that hard to figure that one out.

Well, I guess I misspoke. All of the internationals have sprouted specific political beliefs in the Marxist vein. Many parties and organizations align with one of the Internationals. I was just curious to find out who identifies with what.

And regarding the Fourth International, are you in solidarity with the Socialist Action party in the US? I dabbled a bit in them, but it eventually turned me off as far too secretive and skeptical. Do you have any opinion of them?

Well, Holden is correct historically - we both support the Fourth International, but certainly not very long after WWII. Today, we would probably support different Internationals.

The Fourth, we must admit, was born degenerate, and kept degenerating until it become decisively counterrevolutionary when it supported the popular front in Bolivia in 1952 (its Bolivian section became part of the bourgeois government, with no protest from anyone in the International except the small Vern-Ryan tendency in the American SWP).

Socialist Action, the group you speak of, is the American section of USec, whose abridged story you can find here (http://www.revleft.com/vb/showthread.php?p=1246411#post1246411).

It's not a very specific question so it's kind of hard to answer;

The 1st International split between Marxism and Anarchism which was unfortunate.

While the 2nd International fell apart when Social Democracy led the proletariat into WW1, the split which occurred due to the Communist opposition against the Great War was certainly justified.

The 3rd International was revolutionary until the Soviet Unions' adoption of "socialism in one country" in 1926, which signalled the Cominterns' official change in policy from seeking world revolution towards the defense of the Soviet State, which indicates it's Stalinist degeneration.

Regarding the 4th International, well... It's hard to say anything specific about it since there are so many Trotskyist Internationals and groups that claim to be the only political heir to it. There are so many of them, that some of the Trotskyists even decided to just start a 5th instead and avoid the bickering altogether.
