His death is actually bad because Haider was the main stumbling block between unity of the two far-right parties over his refusal to go into an alliance with one of the centre-right parties.

With his death the two far-right parties can unite and not only can they combine their high voting percentage from the recent elections, they can also go into an alliance with the centre-right party meaning collectively they will be the strongest political force in Austria!

Haider served a useful purpose of splitting the far-right vote and thus preventing Austria from being governed by neo-Nazi lunatics, now that he has gone Austria should prepare itself for the worst.

Anyway, while I feel sympathy for his mother, I find it hard to feel sympathy for Haider, given what he was. I do regret though that his death will probably lead to the extreme right in Austria reuniting. Keeping it divided was the one good thing Haider was doing.

It's not the same situation, though. I don't make or enforce the board policy, so I am powerless to control who is placed in the category of OI. Furthermore, membership in OI is not predicated on an affirmative belief in anything, so it is nonsensical to make that logical leap. This is different than non-restricted status, which requires beliefs compatible with the aims of the board.

Besides, I have argued against such idiots in OI in the past anyways, so I think I have clean hands in that regard.
