View Full Version : Racism coming out from McCain supporters

This is the 'base' of the republican party, fundamentalists, and a lot of not so subtle racism as well, likely the kind of parents of our recent McCain supporters here:

This kind of rhetoric is all normal thinking for American Republicans.

Here is the racist shit I've seen by McCain-Palin supporters just so far today...
A woman saying Obama is a terrorist because "he's got the bloodline":
KjxzmaXAg9E
A picture (too big to post here) of someone's white pride lawn sign (http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/opinions/pages/votewhite.jpg) alongside a McCain-Palin sign.
A combo of racism and voter fraud: a county in New York state has mailed out absentee ballots with "Barack Osama" listed as a candidate (http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=728326).
General bullshit (http://news.aol.com/story/_a/angry-anti-obama-taunts-grip-mccain/n20081010180909990012) from McCain-Palin supporters, some of it racist and some just idiotic.
And then, of course, the videos posted in this thread.

i agree on that, all it does it make obama stronger, beccause people will see him has a victim now and will vote for him beccause of that.
and actually, it sad but people who vandalized electoral panel in my city achieved the same result with the conservative party.

I wouldn't call them the "fringe of the fringe". Sure, most Republican voters are probably not racist. But the American right has always had problems with race and racism. Over 40 years after Dr. King marched on Washington, their true colors are beginning to reemerge. And I thought it was only gays that they hated these days.

Yeah I hear this sort of bullshit all the time from people who I once respected, despite them being ardently to the right. A friend of mine expressed concern that Obama is a double-agent from Iran a few days ago. Coincidentally, I decided around the same time that it was okay to physically accost people who have different opinions than me, so, yeah.

It's fun being a red in a red state. Even the world "liberal" is abused to no ends. I can't pick up a newspaper without hearing about Obama's socialism.
But the GOP is at the forefront of nationalizing the banks. The Democrats will have a fun time these next two years. As an acquaintance said: this is like Christmas, wrapped in a birthday topped off with Chinese food and multiple orgasms.

Reminds me of some local anti-war protestors I know who went to a pro-war rally and they ende dup having to explain in the politics section of the newspaper what they were actually protesting about. People here have a very conservative mindset, and I regularly see anti-abortionists at a clinic not too far from my house.

I would not be at all surprised to find that the McCain campaign planted those people in the audience, or at least screened their questions and knew that when they got the mic they were going to call Obama an "Ay-rab". I mean, if they cared about stopping it, they could have screened those questions out. I'm pretty sure they screened the audience either way (they'd be idiots not too), which means they probably intended for that whole staged scene to happen, with the audience members planting crazy racist shit in people's heads and then McCain weakly denying the truth of what they say--but in a very consoling voice, like he understand why you would be concerned about having an Ay-rab as president.

You could also posit that the Obama campaign planted those people in the audience as well. They wanted McCain to look Racist and Fascist. This all makes McCain look worse than better--it will probably loose him more votes.
Look: we live in two worlds, that which we know and that which we speculate about. In the world we know we can state the facts as freely as we want, but in the speculative world--we should be as judicious as possible.

That makes no sense, why would the Obama campaign have control over who gets into a McCain rally?
And do you really think that the McCain and Obama campaign don't control who gets into their own rallies?
Or that they hand the mic over to people who will represent them on live TV without screening their questions first?

Well, I've been to Obama (who I support) and Palin (who I think is cute) rallies and they let everyone in that wanted to get in. They had out mikes to people that want to talk and ask questions. I shook hands with both of them. It's a really come as you are ask what you want affaire.
You can get up as close and as personal as you want with these guys--right off of the street.
And as far as government officials meeting people--I was also a supporter of Jeb Bush in Florida and traveled with him a bit--and ANYONE could talk to him anytime he was out in the public. I'm not sure all politicians are like him--but lots are.

Good point. The local news was there and took film for a sound bite, I have no idea about the national media. But I never heard about either event being mentioned beyond the six o'clock news.
There indeed could be a difference.

According to John McCain, the opposite of Arab is apparently "a decent person." I've just been skimming the opinion section of the local paper here and I've seen some pretty vile shit from McCain supporters, but the videos posted here are pretty awful. And given the sheer number of them, I can't believe its a "fringe of the fringe." This is how a lot of people in mainstream American society are thinking... that we actually have a TERRORIST within a hair's reach of the White House. Yeah, and the 9/11 Truthers are nuts...

But its part of a stupud dynasty of politicians, you may aswell have effing royalty. Anyway, i saw him on a program standing next to bush before his dad got elected and they were both chatting shit. He is a vile idiot, he made no attempt to distance himself from any mud slinging and he lacks intergrity. In fact i remember him laughing like a prick whilst his thick twat of a brother slagged off (the bloke his dad beat).

Well...
These republicans got used into it, since they are mostly conservatives. But I think that why did they chose a woman like Palin to be McCain's Running mate? Are they desperate since the democrats had a black running as president? Or just because they think that they attempt to do so before the democrats might chiose Clinton as Obama's running mate? What I think of these republicans is that they are got used to have the running president and its running mate as a "White, old, male" politician!:)
Lucky that there's no DIXIECRAT as of today.
