"Hollllly shit!" (in the words of Brodie from Mall Rats) and theres me thinking that all Marvel comics these days where pretty much censored peices of neo-crap. It also strikes me as odd as marvel was alwayts so pro government with al those tales of evil communists plots and all that. Odd how things change, huh.

Why do they have such a problem with it? freedom of speech remember!!
Non-Sectarian Bastard!
15th April 2003, 22:59
Wow!
I feared that they would recruit children for the army, like many cartoons and schools are doing now.
Something bless Marvel! :D
And if u have read George Orwell's 1984 you understand what kinda "freedom" we live in.

I think that Stan Lee has the right to do whatever he wants. His comics have been always wonderful, and will be forever. But I do admit it, his comics were kinda anti-communist at times. I have nothing against what he wrote.

psst......It's just a book, brah. :) To paraphrase something I wrote in this forum earlier---- 2001: A Space Oddysey is a great book too, but just because I like it doesn't mean I'm going to go kill my calculator before it has a chance to kill me.
(merely trying to stomp out some of the more extremist and/or paranoid flames over here)

yo - punk!
you yawn at what is a proven fact already?
a comic book called "THE BROTHERHOOD" which came out in the monthes leading to 9/11 was BANNED. In its place, under the exact same name, was a retarded rag about firefighters. The message? Mutants(communists, "terrorists" ) aren't REALLY a brother hood. The "real" brotherhood are the firemen. Don't believe me? Go check it out.

I still personally think the best comic ever was in 1978 and was the only true time Superman was ever beaten at anything-Muhammed Ali beat him in a boxing match.
Marvel is better than D.C., though. I am not actually much of a comic person.

“We’ve done things in our history that aren’t right to our own citizens.” He specifically cited the infamous Tuskegee experiment, in which medical researchers left syphilitic black patients untreated in order to study effects of the disease. “The beauty of America is that we can tell these stories and learn from our mistakes and move on.”
Man he needs to visit this board and see how wrong he is when he reads some of the cappie responses to world events and foreign policy.

american punk:
so, since you don't believe me, you must of checked it out. now you have to believe me.
DC is ratshit, I mean every hero practically is representative of the ruling class. you have Batman, a billionare capitalist pig. you have superman, a full time propaganda agent in the free enterprize press. then there's lex luthur who is DC's version of Magneto. he's bad sometimes, but he's really not THAT bad. he'll team up with Supe against demons and monsters and terrorists. DC is just a bunch of garbage.

which? calling you american punk instead of american kid, or calling your bluff?
because, if you said that you don't believe me you should have checked it out, like I said you should have if you didn't. in which case, you would no longer not believe me and instead believe me because you went ahead and actually checked it out.
in the meantime, I'm basing all of this on first person information. I'm gonna try and find something to prove it with. brb.

image? that sorta makes sense.
I still have all my original spawn, cyberforce, youngblood, save dragons and wildcats lying around somwhere. this one looks pretty cool, though. are they at issue 9, or past by now? maybe I'll go out and pick a copy up. then again, with the price of things, I can't afford to enjoy it and go back and buy all the back issues. is that $2.95 american? probably four something up north.
