Making connections

I know I have been asking lots of questions, but that is because before I had no one to ask. Do you also think that empiricism stems from materialism, and that existentialism stems from empiricism, or am I making connections where there are none? I know this may sound like a dumb question, but please give me an answer. Also, do you think it is possible to be all of the above without hypocrisy? I am asking this because of the research I have done they are all viewed as distinct schools.

This mostly hinges upon what you mean by empiricism, materialism, and existentialism.... and how you interpret them. Broadly conceived, I can see some connections (but also some apparent disconnects), but I really don't know what you mean by the question.
